Rar. Files for backglass not working

The VPN version opens side ways and is a mash up between the playfield and backglass. The only tables that open are v1.1 and v1.2 but the backglass doesn't work. I wonder why their isn't a vpx version.

Actually v1.2 is a VPX table!
Weird that it is in the VP9 Cabinet section.

This table does require that you have the Star Gazer rom in your roms folder.

To get the backglass to work, you need to open table in editor. (Right click with mouse on VPX table and click Edit.)


Click script tab on left side of editor and look on Line 11 and you will see this...

Const cController = 1

change the 1 into a 3 so it looks like this...

Const cController = 3

Now the backglass server program will be activated.

To get the tables that look sideways, open the editor, and click Preferences tab at top, and then click Video Graphics Options.
Now you should see a place to checkmark "Always Use FS Backdrop settings". Checkmark that and now all VPX tables will start in cabinet mode.

There was nothing in line 11
And line 23 said something else. Line 31 said new controller =1. I changed to 3 hit save.

Still no backglass

The backglass and table should work just like all of the rest of your tables. (Except for that v1.2 where you have to change the 1 to 3 in script.)
Is the backglass named the same as table?
For example...
Star Gazer(Stern 1980) v1.2.vpx
Star Gazer(Stern 1980) v1.2.directb2s

Well I got the backglass to show up. However there are no scoreboard cutouts to display the dmd. This is getting tedious.

Here is v1.2 with Felsir backglass.
Extract contents of Zip file, and move them both to where your other tables and backglasses are.

Thanks so much. I will try it tomorrow. I turned off that machine after over 4 hours of trying to get this table to work lol. I'll let you know what happens. Good night.

Good morning. Thanks for the files! They work together on the back end. A pop up opens asking to set game settings etc, and gives option to disable start up menu.

I imported the table to front end and when I open it the backglass is fine, but the table opens in vp editor only I can do nothing because the mouse doesn't work when the table is in the front end.

I hope there is a fix for this issue. So close!

ALT key highlights (underlines) the key for shortcuts. You can use space to select that option and alt+tab and arrows to cycle those submenus.
Or set VP to run window mode, set whatever options, then set it to run fullscreen again.

Learn how windows works with just a keyboard. It's life saver and a lot faster workflow.

Hello, I seems I've fixed the issue. I had to do a lot of reading! I had to open up the backglass menu and make sure that it was in default exe mode. Also unchecked start up menu.

Here you most likely need to use an additional program that can open a rar file. Because, for example, my friends recommended the best rar for mac - Commander One.

mac - Commander One.

It's unlikely you would use an apple mac to unrar a PC file. Best to use an updated install of 7zip, if that doesn't work, then the .rar file must be corrupted.

In my opinion, 7zip is the best program to uncompress files like rar (and it is free).

Agree... 7zip is what everyone should use.

That said... sometimes you do need to install a newer version of 7zip on occasion to be sure it will extract newer zip / rar files correctly.
