Removing my account

To Elton: Sorry, it's just that I thought that when I created my account here, I thought a virus had hit my computer. I thought wrong, so I'll be deleting this thread.

Don't worry about it. I lost my entire second drive several months ago, but that was caused by the System Restore file being written to the drive precisely at the point of a blackout. It cost me several original songs and my personal copy of Scarface which I stored there.

A Tip: If you have trouble with power outages and damage or loss of your hard drives, you should consider disabling the Write Caching function for your drives.

or get what i have. I use a backup box that all my computer devices plug into. Whenever we lose house power a signal goes off, (a beeping) letting me know I have (it stores electricity) 30 seconds before IT runs out of juice! I have used it occasionally during power outages, and I get to save whatever I'm currently working on and shut down my computer, during that time. No more lost files due to blackouts. It costs about $80 for this unit, but it's well worth it. It let me save my files three times in the last 9 months so it has more than paid for itself. And for $80 it's not a bad investment
