'Roid Belt Racers - Imagine if the guys designing those kids electronic pinballs from the 80s had a commercial budget

Imagine if the guys designing those kids electronic pinballs from the 80s had a commercial budget to play with.

This is a space themed table. The theme is a group of fearless daredevil racers, flying whatever old ship they can hot up, for a ruthless and high stakes race through the asteroid belt, dipping inside the rings of Saturn, and back to the starting line in orbit of Phobos.

It was built from my Yuki table so shares a few table elements with that, though it remains very much it's...

Nice 1 mate, I really like this one. :-)
Done a gameplay video as always.

your tables are really super good....nice
this is just a constructive critisism for all the table makers.
the elasticity on the top of the sling bumpers at the flippers do not have enough elasticity.
i played real PB...they are pretty flat....play some PB videos at YT and pay special attention to the bounce on the top of the slings at the flippers.
***sometimes when i played real PB the ball will come down from the upper table at high speed and bounce the top sling bumper just right then bounce into the other side drain....really, i'm not playin' you.....
watch some videos at YT and pay attention to the bounce at the top of the sling at the flippers.
0.25--0.3 for all the other rubber bumpers on table seem to work ok.
a) as an experiment in VP9 i changed the elasticity of the slings to 0.7 and 3-4 on the kick of the sling.
it's been a while.... in the "backdrop" i clicked on bumper, move the bumper to the sling then select the "add point" to the bumper then clicked round in the borders to add more points as needed to make it round to fit around the top of the sling bumper proper.
then made it custom to fit around the top corner of the sling....i found i was a little easier to change the elasticity of the
bumper to 0.7 to the entire bumper then 3-4 for the kick than create a new bumper for the top of the sling.
this is all your preference and how you want to do this....click on the sling and pay attention to how the sling is made.
this all depends on how the sling was created in that table......some slings rapped around the sling some didn't
then i used the direction arrows on the KB to move the bumper into position and make the final custom changes at the "points" for the top sling bumper bounce.

it's been 3 days.
nobody has comments or challenge my experience with real PB.
what are you afraid of?
nobody else caught this one.
with all the members here i'm suprised no other experienced PB players didn't speak up about thiis
a long time ago.
if it wasn't for me you would be flyin' blind forever without a clue.
ingrates....you didn't even say thank you.

Bless your heart... Three days is nothing. Most of us are limited in time.

Thank you for your input. What you discuss is directly addressed in FP by Terry Red with Fizx. We all know it already. We've been doing this a long time. I'm Grandma, thanks for the eggs.

By the way, their are two reasons real pinball games sometimes drain to the outlanes from the top of the sling - firstly they are often badly designed layouts produced in a rush for a small budget. Some real world pinball is truly awful! Secondly as tables wear, friction on the mylar as well as perishing on the rubbers and weakening of solenoids among other factors will change those trajectories, how badly worn out should we simulate?

i'm not playing FP right now...i have no way to experiment with the Fizx physics....maybe later...
this is a computer program...there is no rubber bumper to wear out....i played plenty real PB...this feature is not correct....
i remember the ball had a healthy bounce kicking to the other drain sometimes....didn't matter if it was new or worn.....
the upper sling bumpers bounce out of the DL is flat....worn bumpers can still bounce until they break....i made the changes and bumped up the elasticity...
ok, just asking to see if the forum knows about it....been around a long time....don't recall any discussion on this.....
i'll mod it myself untill the forum gets a fix on it.
*do you know the title to the FP Terry Red link to this is?
*did you watch some YT videos on the game play and pay attention the upper sling bounce at the top of the sling at the flippers?
*is the forum going to do a fix that will work for VP9 and VPX?

Anthias......so what's goin on?...there are several ways i would do this.
i have known about this for a long time.....been doin my own fix.
how long has the forum known about this?
i'm interested in how the forum is goin' to do this?
did you watch some PB videos @YT.

I don't understand why you think I am going to make *the forum" do something? I am not staff. I am not in control of anything or anybody on this site or in this community. You've posted to a release thread of one obscure table that very few people give a damn about. What reason would I have for doing anything with your ideas? I don't have the time, energy or inclination to do anything and frankly with the arrogant and self important attitude of inflated self assigned superiority you display in your comments I honestly don't give a damn .if you want something done, do it yourself and let the community judge if it's worthwhile. I'm not here to serve your desires, this is a hobby that already eats more time than I have and if it becomes a hassle or pain in the arse it no longer serves its purpose as a bit of escape from the bullshit I'm dealing with and as such will be gone. This is NOT a priority.

Post your ideas to the correct place, where those who can make changes that might correct it in vp9 and Vpx mght see it this is not the place for it.

well sorry for asking...
you have been here a long time and seem to have relations with the staff here.
just asking to see if the forum knows about it.
btw, if you have known about it why didn't you do the fix in your later tables.
makes me think you didn't know.
i was giving advice from my experience from real PB.
VPF as far back as 2009 gave me the same attitude when i came up with solutions and now i'm getting it again here.
the forum leaders threw a tantrum like you are doing when i gave advice.
and yes, i am more experienced than most here because i'm older and played real PB and know
what i am talkin' about.
so carry on...i'm doin' alright.

No tantrum here. Just priorities which clearly differ from yours.

what....has nothing to do with priorities.
it's about the program and the simulated game play.
was not a put down.
i watched your video...after years i decided to comment on the elasticity of the sling bumpers.
they were flat just like all the other tables as far back as VP9 in 09, so i decided to make a suggestion.
no other members or the forum admin never seemed to pickup on this so i did it.
your welcome....roll eyes
