Hi, I'm very much a novice at this but am the proud owner of a Gottlieb Roller Disco machine that I can't seem to get to work. I just installed a Ni-Wumpf CPU and a Rottendog GDB001 Controller board. I still have the original boards but both have what looks like Kludges and Burnt bits. Right now, I am looking for the sign that says "Bang Head Here." Here is what the machine is doing: On switch on, the backglass lighting turns on. The 4 displays are blank, then flash 349000, then the outhole kicker fires and returns, then the displays alternate between showing 0 and then 320000. None of the field lights come on except the "Same Player Shoots Again," Lamp. Other than that light, the playfield is all off. There is also no sound coming from the sound card either. The machine is missing the knocker solinoid and there are two wires for the knocker that are not connected to anything. (Is this the cause of my grief?)
Checked all of the wire connectors and they seem to be clean and still springy. Double checked that all of the connectors are plugged into the right boards and slots. Since I work for a power supply company, I had the techs replace all of the caps and verify that the voltages are all per the schematic specs on the power supply.
I think the machine is trying to tell me what the problem is but I can't find any trouble shooting codes for the Ni Wumpf or Rottendog controller cards. (I'm wondering if they play nice together or hate each other because of competition?)
Any help from one of you seasoned veterans at this would be gratefully accepted.
