Gottlieb Shaq Attaq (Gottlieb, 1995) - System 3 problems

I have a Shaq Attaq, who has been acting odd lately. It has started to score points and make the sound for the score, without the ball actually hitting anything. Sometimes it will do it several times within a second. It seems like its doing it from multiple targets, as the sound for the score isn't always the same. It's driving me crazy...Please help if you know what could be my issue. This machine has acted up before, like telling me I need to add a ball..when all the balls were in it. *Sigh* Any help would be much appreciated. Thank You.

I know this will sound odd but have you replaced any bulbs lately. In the System 3 machines, the lamp matrix and switch matrix share the same strobe lines. A shorted lamp socket can cause this behavior. Got to the test menu and run the individual lamp test. See if you have 2 bulbs lighting for the same item (1 correct, 1 incorrect). Also remove all of the balls and go into the switch test on the menu and see what if any switches are stuck.
