Gottlieb Solved Show Boat (Gottlieb, 1961) problem

Hi...Fairly new to this and getting addicted quickly. Every time I score 1-9 points, the game resets as if I'm starting a new game. The score reels zero out and the ball release opens then closes then stays open. It doesn't do it with the tens or hundreds. I dug a little and tried some things I read may help but no luck. I went through the score reels and 0-9 unit. They appear to be working fine. What am I missing? Thanks.

i would start by checking out the ball release solenoid stack switches. one of those switches is a lock in switch for that solenoid. so when the game resets that solenoid stays pulled in with one pulse. a NC switch on the 1 point relay will open or release that solenoid when the relay pulls in. the 1 point relay is the only score relay that will do this. another of the ball release stack switches is wired in line with the start or reset relays. i dont know what the third stack switch does. a switch ID label might still be attached next to the stack saying what all three switches do. check for proper operation of the ball release arm activating the stack properly. lightly file switches clean and adjust switch blades if needed. too much downward tension of the switch stack blades might cause the solenoid to hum. a pic of the ball release stack and the label might be helpful. next check the replay switch and its connections for shorts. next check the latch-in bank on the bottom panel for a start relay. the bank might also have an ID label on it. check and see if the start relay latch-in pulls back in after the bank reset coil fires and or the ball release solenoid releases.

I went through everything you suggested and My problem is SOLVED! What a great feeling when things start working! The third switch on the ball release stack is for the ball 4 and 5 roll overs. Thank You very much! I'm not done with it yet so I may be back. Thanks again.
