Might not ever happen, still it's an interesting pic of the early stages of a design.

Extremely good layout. I like it very much.

Wide and open playfield, very long shots, not cluttered with tons of 'toys', it almost looks like a 'back-to-the-roots' approach (i see a lot of FirePower and Flash in there) which i can only applaud.

The inevitable downside will of course be the photoshop graphics they are going to use. Compared to the awesome hand-drawn graphics from the SolidState era they just arent very appealing, hence it would be so great if they would at least occasionally go back to the true pinart we all love and admire, especially with old-school-inspired layouts such as this one. After all looks are important, so why not combine a winner-layout with winner-graphics? If both is done well enough you are going to have a winner-machine, so it would definitely make sense,...

Hm. Looks like another AFM design mod. It has proven to be successful (Monster Bash, Sopranos, etc.), so this might be a winner.

Avatar... I'm not sure what I can make out of this theme/license. Can't tell much about that in this phase.

Ironic (or maybe not), because I was thinking that it looks an awful lot like T2's layout. Regardless of what it is, it's nice to see something in the design phase after the doom and gloom talk that there would be no new designs produced.

Its 'new', but not really new,...the date at the bottom says October '08,...

well the three lanes at the top spell out 'BOW' so I'm guessing a medieval theme here with a robin-hood -esque theme maybe? And I did see that pteradactyl sitting in the left side avatar is so common a term now meaning most anything from a prince bent on revenge to a ninja dude (avatar the last air bender or whatever that title is) is about a japanese kid who can do flips and judo stuff...
oh well, just have to wait and see...

Now that you say it, it does look more like a T2 than a AFM. Well, Lawlor kept taking ideas out of his own tables, so I'd say Ritchie can do it too.

My first impression was of a real close duplicate of Guns N Roses, especially with the ramp positioning and entry points as well as the exit to the top three bumpers from b-o-w lanes and the all too common wheel of characters, ala guns, lotr, etc.-->> :)

Except some of the photoshop on the backglass or playfield may be in 3D.

That might be BOW as in "to your masters", not BOW and arrow.

This theme (Avatar) was on my wish list at vpforums.com.

Well, unless we are in for a surprise from Stern or elsewhere, it looks like Avatar: The Pinball Machine has been cancelled.
These has been no word from the Sternpinball.com site of its pending release and Steve Ritchie's site has this to offer:

I wouldn't make one on a gamble of a movie in the first place...who knows if it'll succeed? If it doesn't then what......Bib Bang ever watch that show...now that's funny...DO a Married with Children, that would blow more than my mind! :)
