SyncoBob For Marv Rated R

I just love playing this table, so I'm still working on it.

I added a new logo made of lights that flashes inbetween balls and turns the lights on and off from left to right before and after a game. It is made up of 4 different color lights stacked on top of each other, sort of like PD's fading lights, except these lights aren't fading the same color because they are 4 different colors.

I also added a new graphic

I'm going to add a new scale of keyboard bells along with the piano scale to add some more musical variety.

So what about it will give it the R rating?

It takes a minute to load for me, but the latest screenshot will popup below this post.

Any chance that there will be a G version (different pic) to this update?

Hehe.... I'll try to make a Key of G version also. I wouldn't want the kiddies to go blind.

i think adding a single pasty would be fine. considering all the cheesecake appearing in loads of tables already... ahem.

man, i still can't believe marv is the same marv from VPFF. there's like, no resemblance at all. did you stumble upon jesus in a dark alley, marv? :)

I added the babe on the backdrop and I completed the piano donut in the middle, hopefully I can learn how to make a better donut pic for the center. Also notice the circle lights were changed to donuts since the last release of this table.

I'll update the IMG pic for John in an earlier post with this screenshot.

Good deal. I really enjoy your "G rated" table themes - Spiderman, Fantastic Four, Dare Devil, Superman, 3 Stooges, Daffy, Mad Magazine, etc. and of course - SynchoBob

Thanks Deep_Stuff, are you related to Hot_Stuff?

John, this page takes at least a minute or two to load up for me, try letting it sit for awhile and eat a couple of Hoho's. :bonk:

:rasta:

BTW John, can you see the smilies on this page?

No relation. I might be related to 4_Putt though. I got the handle from Golf Sims because that's where my ball usually is - in the deep stuff. On these forums I probably should go by the name Drain. :p

The problem isn't loading time, now that I have broadband. The problem is that all avatars and the majority of attachments won't display properly for me. I can see smilies and embedded images, and about 25% of attachments. Now I have no problems at VPO of VPF, and can't view anything at all at FP. It's been that way for close to a year, and didn't change with an video card upgrade.

john, is there a particular thread somewhere about these problems you're having? i.e. one that talks about different solutions you've tried?

if not, the very first thing i would be curious about is what this site looked like for from another browser. i.e. if you're using opera, trying IE. if you you're using IE, try firefox, etc.

feel free to split this out- i'm not trying to hijack.

No, there isn't any thread, and yes, it's exactly the same with IE, and yes, I have the latest drivers, both screw and internet variety. And I've tried every solution suggested to me, which is everything short of a mild salt and vinegar solution. You're liable to find this discussed and cussed just about anywhere here as folks have tried to assist me, and I have repeatedly become frustrated. I hope the humor I have tried to interject have shone through, since I'm sick of the whole thing and which anyone logging in here automatically knew the problem and simply ignored it. It's been real old for a long, long time.

1- have you tried turning off any software firewall temporarily?

2- have you checked to see if your cable or DSL modem has a router built-in?

3- have you renamed your hosts file temporarily to "hosts.bak" temporarily?

4- have you disabled any anti-spyware and/or anti-virus software temporarily?

5- what's your alternate browser to IE? and have you tried an install of the latest version?

6- have you described specific instances (perhaps thru screenshots) regarding this problem so that people helping might have had a chance to identify a specific pattern of which images loaded and which didn't?

7- have you or your helpers been able to rule out that it's not one specific type of image that's unable to be displayed, such as only PNG's, only JPG's or only GIF's?

8- if you take an image that can't be displayed, right-click and save it onto your desktop, are you able to? and if so, can you then open the image with your local paint program?

Yes, I've done all the things you've suggested that I understood. I have no idea what you mean by #3. I've done #6 several times. Yes to #7, it's every type of attached images. #8 doesn't work because the image isn't there for me, so I can't save it.

#3 - if you do a search for a file named "hosts" (no extension) it should turn up in your system directory. one of the things it's used for is to block any undesired URL's, sort of like an adblocker or popup blocker.

1) rename it to "hosts.bak".
2) then depending on your system you might need to do a reboot.
3) then try to load some problem images.
4) then rename the file back to plain old "hosts".

if the problem images displayed it means a line in the hosts file is blocking them.

#8 - there are ways around it. one is to tell me a specific image you can't load and i'll give you the URL for it. then you can paste it directly into your browser. or paste it into a post and then right-click save from the URL in the post.

last- this is a nag, but if there's anything on the above list or from suggestions that people gave you that you don't understand you should keep asking questions until you do. or else the problem doesn't get fixed.

This might sound weird nic, but after all this time and all the hassle, I really don't care if it gets fixed or not now. 90% of everything folks have told me to do doesn't make any sense to me, so I live with the problem. My brand of common sense tells me that if two sites don't give me any trouble at all, 1 gives me total trouble, and this one is hit or miss my computer is probably demon possessed. A cure simply isn't worth the headache all the questions and confusion causes me. But I will try the Hosts search since I understand that.

btw, another request to split this discussion out of this WIP thread.

I don't mind the off-topic posts, it's too bad John can't see most attachments and it would be nice if he could get it working again.

I'm probably seeing about 20% of everyone else's attachments, and 60% of mine, which is an improvement. What is mystifying to me is that I don't have any problems at VPO or VPF, and can't see anything at FP. One of these days I'll have a friend's son come over and try to fix it for me. I'm simply too non-tech to make heads or tails out of most of the suggestions made here. It's not that I don't appreciate them, it's just that I get frustrated by my confusion.

I'm with tiltjp on the attached pics, I can only see some of them on this site yet I have no probs elsewhere. I haven't done anything about it but the symptoms are the same. Maybe it's some incompatability with the forum software. I haven't been to FP forums for months so don't know if it is a problem there.
