The King of Frozen Foods is Dead at 93

Jeno Paulucci, the founder of Chun King, Jeno's, and Budget Goumet/Michelina's and the original manufacturer of The Jeno's Pizza Roll back in 1968 is dead at 93.
I used to live on Chun King Pepper Steak Dinner, miss it much, and I still eat Michelina's Stroganoff, Swedish Meatballs, and their Pizza Snacks (Pizza Rolls).
He may have been a shark, but he was a true diamond.

Perhaps I spoke too soon...

Bought some Michelina's Zap Em Pizza Snacks and some genius from The Hanna Barbara School of Comedy who is now in charge of Jeno's product reputation and responsibility to the customers decides to make 'em with Flaming Hot Sauce...

Needless to say, I had some unusual dreams later as the Flaming Hot Sauce burned through my stomach lining...

This is Not the Way to keep your established customers. This is The Fastest Way to lose us.

I am recalling that, when the product was sold under the Budget Gourmet name, that the supermarkets carried over 20+ varieties of this product, but that the company then got clever with the additives, stuff like Phosphates and Pyrophosphates, additives that were guaranteed to wreck havoc on my stomach linings and so I was forced to discontinue buying the products. Other customers must have felt the same way because the formerly excellent Budget Gourmet product line dropped over the years down to a handful of varieties carried locally by Kroger Ralphs/Food4Less/all other chains and Jeno was forced to digress by changing the name to Michelina's; adopting a family name to represent product quality and pride in order to win back our patronage. And he did. Up until the genius took over, the Michelina's line was good dependable quality.

If anyone from Michelina's is reading this, please, if you want to sell a Flaming Hot Pizza Snack, then Leave the original Snacks alone and sell you new Fiero-Style briquettes as a separate product.
I will not buy your 'new and improved' b.s., same as the last time Budget Gourmet blew it.

After I posted the second reply I contacted the Bellisio company, manufacturers of the Michelina line of foods.
They were extremely prompt and they took care of the problem in short order. I wish I could say that about most of them.

I also want to say that I am Not about forcing my will against others. This was an issue of error in normal product quality, not a rant about 'what I think products should be like' in spite of what they are supposed to be.

Dang it, when I want a burger, I want the salt, the fat, the seasonings, the char-broil, the calories, etc. I mean, I'm hungry. I'm not on a special diet, and if I am, then I will eat that instead.

For that matter, anything modified for special diets, no salt, no fat, no calories, no food, 0 calorie sweeteners, and with an emphasis on artificial preservatives to compensate the lack of salt and sugar which normally preserve the food, is PROBABLY a valid product as long as they are sold SEPARATELY.
Leave the original good foods alone.
