Bally Theatre of Magic (Bally, 1995) goes dark, pls help

Hi,

My name is Christian and I have a Theatre of Magic with 2 problems.
I live in The Netherlands.

1.
When the ball hits the right slingshot, the ball saver magnet on the right exit lane is sometimes activated too. You hear the sound that goes with that and when the ball gets close to that area it gets pulled towards the magnet.
And you lose the ball saver.
Does anyone know how to fix this?

2.
Last week when I was playing the game it just went dark during a game.
Nothing worked anymore, but there was still power on the machine.

I turned it off, and back on, a little later, then it worked fine.
Today I played a few games and every thing was fine. Tonight it went dark again during the first game. Turned it off but couldn't get it on anymore. You do hear the first power on sound that you always hear, but no lights turn on.

I couldn't find anything wrong, but I might be wrong where to look for something. I'm no electrician, but do can fix little things if I know what might be broken. But have no skills to track down the error.

Is there anyone who can help me on this matter is plain sesame street language?

when machine goes dim look for dim or off leds on boards that are on during normal operation. digital camera pic comparison may be helpful.

the ball saver electro-magnets are first triggered by a eddy sensor assembly. this assembly consists of a inductive sensor and a sensor board. the sensor board interfaces the sensor to the switch matrix. the inductive sensor is similar to the under-road sensors used by traffic lights( that sense metal over them). the manual shows A-18543-1 as the part#, the board pic, and schematic on page 3-20. on page 1-45 the eddy board calibration is shown. at the end of the calib. section it says about using glip-tol. glip-tol is adjustment pot wiper sealing paint(usually red, similar to fingernail polish). the hardened paint while keep the pot adj. from moving in a vibration environment. on some sealed pots if you crack the sealing paint by re-adjusting the pot, the cracked paint may cause a problem in re-calibration. gottlieb system 1 power supplies with blue adj. pots will have this paint, do not adjust them. the left and right eddy boards are the same and can be swapped to see if the problem moves, to verify bad part. update A-18543-1 is the part# for the eddy board only. A-17064 is the part# for the left and right eddy sensors
