My clock radio woke me the other morning and the morning crew was discussing the last paragraph in this wikipedia entry:

People drown themselves with alcohol all the time so I don't find the amounts all that surprising, college kids get alcohol poisoning from just beer, imagine how much beer you'd have to drink to do that... and what about the sleeping pills, if he was passed out and vomiting after drinking nothing but wine it would explain the wine being everywhere.

Sound like someone trying to get more books sold.

if the entire WP entry is correct, that sure is a tangled web. up to three suspects who killed hendrix, including himself.

so the implication is that his manager filled a bathtub or kitchen sink about six inches deep with red wine and dunked hendrix' upper torso in there after he was determined to be drunk? that would explain the wine in the hair and shirt, something you wouldn't see in the manager had merely used a funnel down his throat or something. but there would have to be a lot of bottled red wine standing by, no? and he would have either had the key to the apt or an arrangement with danneman.

It would help if they had determined the drug concentration in his blood and bladder, and optical fluid if needed. The girlfriend claimed he took 9 pills when half a pill would do, so someone needs to find out which came first and by how much of each.

Even back then they could have done that, seems like all info from the girlfriend is suspect so it would have been good to have the blood work done to know if he was vomiting due to the pills, the alcohol, both, or no vomiting and it was foul play.
