this thing is pretty dope:

it has a 4 x 4 x 4 matrix of special LEDs... each one with eight states of R, G and B, for a total of 512 colors, i think. it runs elaborate light shows seeded randomly such as to never repeat. just staring closely at the video, i get the idea that it might be a useful aid for self-hypnosis, meditation, or something like that.

it's pricey, at $100. i would consider getting one to take around with me to cafes and bars as a conversation piece, but it needs to be plugged in to an AC adapter. that's no good. i guess the thing to do would be to build some kind of rechargeable power supply to fit underneath. meh...
