Tool to Find Textures on the Internet

I just used a new tool to help with my latest table update. I used Upscayl to improve the playfield but there were a few sections that didn't work very well because the source was really bad. I made separate images of the bad sections and used them to find new images on Google and Bing using "Search by Image". Google has an odd looking icon to the right of the search that you click on and can upload your image to find similar ones. Bing has a similar icon but it is only available on "Image" searches. Google and Bing produced different results but both were useful. I was surprised how similar the images they found were to the original. It is a good way to find a higher resolution image.

Wow, I've never tried breaking things in to sections like that. What an interesting idea.

Not sure what browser you use, but for most, there's a little extension that bundles together a bunch of reverse-image searches. So if it's installed, and assuming your image is online, you just right-click on image of choice and can search with any of 4-5 methods, or all of them together.

"Tineye" in particular is hugely useful as a companion to Google and Bing image searches. Even if you don't install the afore-mentioned extension, I recommend adding it to your arsenal of tools.

Playfields usually have many objects on them. Upscayl did a near perfect job on it except for 2 objects where the original was really bad. It was on an original table so there are no playfields like it on the internet. I just cut out the 2 objects and searched for them individually. It is on "Medieval Castle" that I am nearly finished with. I should be able to post it soon.

Personally, I'm a big fan of "MM" by Williams (my classmate Tina Fey did most of the female voices), and Roney's table looks like a pretty-awesome reimagining of the concept.

Bob and I had been working on Avatar but it has taken longer than we thought. I started working on other projects to let Bob have time to debug.
