I was playing with a few game engines to see if they are good for making pinball and found a way to make Visual Pinball Portable and Future Pinball Portable as well as making your own .exe (executable) file for your games. I saw many people ask in forums how to make VP and FP portable. I was able to make them both portable and have any game run from a exe. Just follow the video tutorials to make your own. It is 100% working just fine the only games that don't work are the ones that contain extra files like external audio, scripts, pups or what have you. This should help so you don't have to re install so many times you can also choose what to run so if you use bam or any other versions just follow the video guide and it should work.

Sandbox your software

Make your game run from self extract exe.

You can learn from this resource, but you won't know anything if you don't graduate from university.
Thanks for sharing! Also thanks for the reply.

@lisaaaaad You are welcome, sorry that I did not share the actual program itself but it might be unethical because the software belongs to Christopher Leathley also when I turn the software portable it creates log files that show the pc ip and signature. I don't want to distribute someone else's software I use it only for my private use.

What VMware ThinApp does is takes a snapshot of your system before you install a software then looks for files that are added after installation. It is important to note that before finalizing your build to run the software and close any new install popups and adjust the settings how you will want before finalizing the build. Visual Pinball doesn't really need to be portable because you can just get the zip from github although the installer has extra features like Pinmame and Flexdmd

It creates a C drive with percent signs %C drive% so if you move the file from that drive to any other drive it will still work. The software installs files in your AppData as well as your registry. If you want more info you can visit https://portableapps.com/ and read their forums.

very interesting spooky.
i watched the video.
it didn't talk about what kind of "portable" device.
i had some VP9 on a 15inch laptop for "portable".
i stood the LT on it's side for FS and used a USB KB.
i don't see how anything smaller than a 15inch LT will work for PB.
VP9 didnt need a powerful LT.
you will need a decent LT to play VPX and FP and maybe an external GFX card.
LT's cannot be modified..
what kind of "portable device" are you refering to?

It makes the software portable for windows so that it is not installed. When installing software you will get files in your AppData folder and your Registry. This keeps all the files together and no uninstall required you just simply click delete it also does not write to your registry keeping your computer clean and moving the file from one pc to another is easy because you will not have to re-install each of your software just drag and drop. This is not for any other device except Windows os but they probably have it for Mac and Linux. You can read more here https://portableapps.com/

I hope this helps.
Some people use all their software on VM or (Virtual Machine) and it goes even further some people use clean operating systems for speeding up their pc.

This is just a short post for anyone who is running a Virtual Machine :-) like me, and keeping your system as clean as possible.
Get yourself an uninstaller I used to uninstall from settings but this left some leftover files there are some good free uninstaller software if you do a search for them and some uninstallers will scan for leftover files. Uninstall any trial software or demos that are sometimes just unused taking up space. Also get yourself some free Antivirus programs just not "Total"or "McAfee" lol those are just bad.

Clean your system with tools there are many free ones. CCleaner is a good one and AVG PC Cleaner

Now anything you want to run outside of your operating system you should place in a folder on an internal or external SSD. One great reason for having everything stored separate from your operating system is when you want to backup all your stuff.

that's very interesting
from i read on the internet a VM behaves the same as a computer.
the delete in control panel should follow all the paths when installed then follow the same paths to uninstall all the files if you want to delete.
it should uninstall in "Control Panel" "Programs and Features".
click uninstall then it should delete all the paths including the paths for registry and components.
then i cruise around C/local and C/program files and delete any leftovers.
why do i need an uninstaller?

pinhead1 I know interesting right I used to do the same thing just uninstall from "Control Panel" and look around for the extra files.

This is why search engine says is better : using the built-in uninstall options can often leave behind leftover folders, files, and Registry entries that can gum up your system. That's why you may want to use a third-party uninstaller, which can fully wipe out entire applications and leave little—or no—traces behind.

Why use VM ? user Psyhological_Try559 says "Security, Isolation and Hardware independence All I have to do now is install the OS & move the VMs over - then they should be good to go! Imagine if I also had to reinstall everything! ."
That's why I run programs under VM so if anything unexpected happens if you have Cloned your VM you are more safe. I really prefer using uninstallers now but it's just really up to you.

you are still using unknown programs from sources you really don't know.
how do you know it doesn't have maleware or spyware?

pinhead1 I don't use unknown programs I do try out different Ai software and game engines and I do use some stuff from github. :-) Like the video I posted above says it is just a good idea to have a backup. To stay safe you can read comments and reviews on any "free" software you find online read about it first to make sure. You can read about the program on reddit and scan the program with your Antivirus or Anti malware program. I have found viruses and Trojans even in software from Filehorse, Cnet and even Major Geeks.

that maybe true, the scammers are always coming up with new bugs and infections.
you can still catch a bug even if you are using the latest AV....
