Anyone remember this? I'd love to see somone do it, but I haven't the skills to do it myself. Made by the Gremlin company, it's called trapshoot. They also had PlayBall. I used to have both in a location in the day.

VP could easily do this. I personally would use Construct for a web based Java game, or Game Maker for a windows .exe.

If I was to use VP it would be done with lights.

I was hoping you'd see this. You do great work.:) I don't know java and I really don't have time to do it in vp as I'm working on a new job, a new website and forum, and a few wips to go with it all.

Here is something I put together this morning.

Use the up arrow to shoot. F4 for window/full screen

Just the center shooter works.

I am unfamiliar with this game and only Googled for the background graphics.

Working on lighting the traps and the shooters. When the lighting is done I will bring up the background.

the glow of the graphics is what would really make this kind of thing shine. i love that mini-lantern effect across the colored templates... somehow it really makes up for the total simplicity of the game.

rock on, gentlemen...

Thank you Shockman!! And sorry for the lateness of my reply, I've been working really hard on my new pinball forum. Considering my coding level, it's unreal what i've been able to accomplish. By the way everyone is welcome to join. http://timpinball.freeforums.net/index.cgi?

Now, on to the game. Basiclly this is a wall game for a bar/restaurant, it hangs on the wall, you walk up to the coinbox (mounted separately), put your quarter in, and take the transmitter back to your table to play. There is only one button on the transmitter. You press it once to bring up A, b, or C (you have no control over which shooter it picks, although it does have a consistent pattern I don't know what it is). You wait for the skeet to come out (random, predetermined delay) and press the button a second time to fire. You only get one shot- thats it. If you hit the skeet it will grade you on the hit as in the video (based on timing). Four points is a trophy, seven trophys are a free game. The number of turns is consistent too- no extra turns, although I don't know how many you get, I'm guessing 10. Shooter B is double points as 2 sheet come out (one from each side, moving towards center). Thats about all I can think of on this, but it should be enough. Thanks again for doing this one!

Then there is absolutely no aiming involved, right.

Is it all a matter of the shooter's angle as selected by the game and the timing?
Like the Sea Wolf submarine torpedo game, but without the steering of the periscope?

I'm not sure how the game tells how good a shot it was because look at the space between shots of the board. But I'm guessing it has to be a timing thing.

I have two shooters working, but got busy on a remodel job. I'll see about the third tonight.

I could not figure out the scoring either, but I have noticed it is harder with the flanking shooters than with the center one. However, too easy when you relate the shot to a landmark the clay is at. But it would be very hard with a variable speed clay.

I did notice in the video that when both traps launch the center man can hit both.

I will get the action elements working and then study for speed and timing and any patterns.

Thanks for the description.

Manual cover has a few details on it.

There are only 2 or 3 different speeds for the clay.

With two or three different skeet speeds, do they move faster progressively with each skeet that you successfully shoot? Or after making a 3 or 4 point skeet hit?

Do they return to a slower speed when you hit one and then miss the next one?

Or do they start slow and shift to faster speeds by default, whether or not you shoot them?

As long as they don't shoot back, we're okay.:mssoldier:

They are pre-set pattern. This is a very simple, yet addictive game. It's not based on anything. It's like slow, med, and fast, but round 1 is always medium. Round 4 is always fast, etc. There are only 3 speeds, but they are consistent with each game. I don't know what the patterns are though.
