Unless I am completely mis-informed, weren't glass pinball back glasses mass-produced, using some sort of silk-screening-type process ?
Someone on craigslist is advertising a Mystic pinball machine and claims the backglass was "hand painted". Okay, so what - they'd be able to make about 4 pinballs a day doing it that way ?
I emailed them and here's the (deluded) response I got:
"Some laymen don't realize the glass is actually a hand painted type process.
The artist, Kevin O'Connor, was interested in magic at the time (ca. 1980), and used images from my collection of vintage magic stone lithos, to first paint on the blank whitewood. Another artist, Margaret Hudson, posed for the large eye on the backglass."
Next, I'm going to be told that Nigeria REALLY does have legitimate emails.
