Back in my HS and post-HS days, we would listen to the same stuff over-and-over again, to the point of functionally performing a religious mantra upon such.

Such as? Such as Boston, Pink Floyd, Queen, Eagles, Led Zep, a bit of Abba, AC/DC, with a dash of Talking Heads sprinkled unto.

And for some reason (which I've never quite understood) it was like heresy when one of us branched out. It's like one of us 'betrayed' the group by curiosity upon other possibilities.
