Where's the Guidelines thread ? Where's the last PD post ever as an Admin reply?

I can't believe it, this is at least the 4th time a whole thread has disappeared from this place.

I have moved the thread in question to the Admin forums pending further discussion.

I maybe just tring in vain here, try I will. It's never to late to change stuff, rules or announcements.

As we say here in Oz, no flies on you mate.

Did I make your spider sense tingle?

You go Oz.
Thanks.

We need an applause smilie.

I didn't say it wasn't a good idea :) I think PD would be a great admin. I hope he sticks around. We don't need alot of rules here, just a few common sense ones. Ask the rest of us assholes for a few opinions now and then.... I liked the original idea I read here about the people moderating. I like the open forums idea about discussing things publicly, we've all had enough of the secret crap, let's try to vent openly and have some fun while we're at it.

Let's have an open staffroom. Hell, let's make everyone a consultant! Give Neptune another drink! Put some flippers on the Forum heading, make those pinups stand up and take notice. It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas! Let's have a Hootenanny!

 :santa:

Yeap, I apparently misread a few posts in our Admin discussion of the rules, and posted them before we all were on the same page. I agree that less is best, but also feel whatever rules we do decide on should be and will be applied fairly to one and all.

Now, as for Bob's suggestion of an open Admin section, I don't think that would work. But what we can do is make every memeber an unmoderator in our new unmoderated Junk Yard. Any member who has any posts to report in the Junk Yard should send him or herself a PM, and then promptly delete it unread, since there's nothing to moderate.

See, there's an opinion that I disagree with already. It's like having 2 kids, one boy and one girl and thinking that you're going to raise them equally with the same rules. It ain't gonna happen. People are different, situations are different, you can't always apply the same rules to every person or situation. That's just life.

I have always been one to play it by ear. I mean, other than Neptune, most of us are pretty easy going when it comes to posting. I say, forget trying to etch something in stone and just move the trash to the Junkyard. Tally Ho!! Head em up and move em out!

I agree with the etch in stone stuff, the VPF archives are another word for "discarded" I had a 3 day old post go there ...Your analogy of Kids is flawed, rules are rules, courts are courts unless you have enough cash to hire a court..busting lawyer....

I hope the rules will be squashed.....

The only rule that my son had that my daughter did not was that he could not go into the girls restroom and she could. She had a simular rule, care to guess what that was?
Other than that they were equal as for rules.

The rules as posted were fine. They were nothing that would get in the way of anyone's fun, but protect US from those that would try.

The punishments, on the other hand don't need to be spelt out, or imposed on the staff. There is something different than say, someone that has a real bad day, any of us, and those that would inflict upon us racial crap, and that kind of stuff on one of their good days.

IMO.

Notice that I said the rules would be applied fairly. No two members are exactly the same, and so every situation needs to be looked at on its own merits. Maybe we should just stick with the ONE rule we have now, which is Don't Make A Fool Of Yourself. But then, I guess we all should be allowed to be foolish is that's what we want.

OMG JonPurpleHaze, have I lost even more of your respect?
What shall I do?
Can I go on?
Ohhhh, the shame of it all!

What you need to do is start a thread telling the whole VP universe how evil I am.
:yourock:

sorry bob, I will never capitalize your name again
If only I had realised sooner

If you don't mind I'll be Ted, it's one less letter to type, so one less chance of a typo.
