Which table to choose

Hi all, ive installed everything and it looks like it works just fine. Only one thing though, i have downloaded one VP-original table zip file called adventure and placed that file in the tables folder.

Next i downloaded the game twilightzone from the top rated games list, now from what i know i have to double click on the table file i just moved in the table folder, when i do that twilightzone doesnt start up, just the adventure table starts.

Do i need another table file for the game twilightzone?

Edit: i just found out that most games has their own tables :), ill see if i can get it to work.

If the table is a VPinMame table like Twilight Zone, then you will need the table.VPT file Unzipped to the Visual Pinball\Tables folder, and you will also need to download the specific ROM for the table.
Put the ROM in the \vpinmame\Roms folder and keep it Zipped.

You can start any table, a VP-Only table or a VPinMame table by opening Visual Pinball and at the top of the editor click File > Open, then choose your table from the file menu window.

do not double click on the table file if you have more than one version of vp installed as the pmame paths may not be set up correctly. to play any table open the vp editor first. THEN load a table into that THEN play it. keep roms zipped in the rom folder all mp3's go into the music folder tables and the vbs files needed to run them go UNzipped into the table folder run in 32 bit full screen with your desktop resolution matching vp's (16 or 32 bit depth)

No, that's not right. Double-Clicking on a table file icon will open the version of Visual Pinball that you officially installed to the system by using the full installer. This will not affect anything to do with VPinMame.
If you have additional .exe only versions of Visual Pinball on your system, these .exe only copies will be ignored.

The only possible problem with Double-Clicking a table file to load it is when the table uses additional files and folders, but again, this is not a problem when using an installed version of Visual Pinball. In fact, you cannot Double-Click a table.vpt file to open it in Visual Pinball UNLESS you either have a full-installation of Visual Pinball on your system or you edit the File Type properties for the .vpt file manually in Windows because the full installation is the only other way to enable the table icon to link to the Visual Pinball program, else the file path for the table and .exe are not created in the system registry.
Without that, it won't open on click at all.
NOTE: Sometimes the full install version of Visual Pinball only allows Double-Clicking to open the table in The Editor.
In other versions, Double-Clicking the table.vpt file will open it directly in Play Mode, in the VP Player.

Remember, the "Pmame" paths (the VPinMame paths) are set by either the VIP installer or the VPinMame Setup.exe install, depending on which one you use to install VPinMame and that VPinMame is a separate add-on program that runs the ROMs for modern commercial machines, a separate program from that of Visual Pinball.

so that's what made it happen! sorry for the misinfo there, I knew I could not just click on my vp9 tables to open with vp9 without actually opening vp9. I thought is was from pinmame my bad. which program then is it that gives one those blue ball images for the tables? one computer I had (i am on my 4th since starting vp!) didn't have them it just showed an actual file pic for the file but now all the tables are those blue balls.
