I encountered a problem after a new installation of Windows 10 Home French version on a new PC (MSI AMD AM5 Ryzen 7 32 GB DDR5 NVidia RTX) : FP stopped working as soon as I entered the "Preferences/Game Keys and Controls" menu without even having loaded a table.
After I deleted the dinput8.dll DLL from the Future Pinball directory, I could access the "Preferences/Game Keys and Controls" menu, but without this DLL I could no longer use the manual ball roller, almost essential for testing and debugging a table. This DLL (version 5.3.2600.5512 US English language, formerly downloaded from Pinball Nirvana) works very well on my old PC which runs under the same version of Windows with the same peripherals (same Razer mouse). Changing the mouse did not improve anything.
While searching through my old DVD-ROMs, I came across an old installable version of Directx 8.1. I extracted the dinput8.dll file (version 5.1.2600.881 US English language) and tried to launch FP again with this DLL.
And it works ! I can access the "Preferences/Game Keys and Controls" menu and use the manual ball roller as before.
So I share this alternative version of the dinput8.dll DLL which could perhaps help other players.
