That's good advice 'Oz. It's not a novel idea though. A novel idea is that that should just apply to me. I take full responsibility for those now almost 900 downloads. But why should I pull them? Why should I not promote them? It's not my opinion that my work should have not been pulled from the support files. It's a fact. It's not my opinion that PacDude should not have your, and the other staffers support in this. That too is a fact. If what he said was true then that would be different, but nothing he said of this is even half true. I did not demand it be taken out, It is not as good as it was, and the slowdown that my technique replaced was not the reason for the problem. If the problem is not fixed, then there is no reason not to have the slow down back in. .03 is too slow, but .06 is as well.
Would PacDude still have your support if he removed your work? I think not, and I would still think not if you said he would. In fact 'Oz, I don't believe he would have your support if he removed anyone's work, other than mine.
It is not my responsibility to sit back and let this go. It is neither my inclination.
You want to hear a novel idea? I have one. You tell PacDude, as a staffer at VPF that he restores the work he removed from the community, which he did not contribute, or he will get a D/A of some sort. No? I thought not, so why don't you just leave me alone then, to do what I feel is right, and just in this circumstance. It is all of our responsibility to do what is equal, not set ourselves above others, and not to accept that we are below others, and that last point is what it seems you are expecting of me. Again, to just let it go, move on, and accept the way things are. Take responsibility for your own actions for a change, now there's a novel idea. Take action when it is your responsibility. You have a responsibility to the VPF community as well as this one. You have a responsibility to the contributers to that community, even if you can not accept them as members, for some personal reason.

if merely a single one of those "900 downloads" meant anything then the user in question prolly would have asked PD at VPF why his tables had poor flipper physics.

yet nobody said a bloody thing, not even noobies who might be too naive to risk PD biting their head off.

conclusion: assuming your numbers are correct (which most likely they aren't due to your being an inveterate liar), it likely only represents the 'curiosity factor'. after that they realise your tables are no real improvement and stop wasting their time.

sort of the same thing that happens to anyone who listens to you speak.

884. I'm not going to argue with you if that is almost 900. If it's a lie, then it is the host lying. What I think it represents is peoples desire to set flippers to realistic speeds so it looks and plays more realistically without having balls through the flipper. For most, I'm sure that is the reason for this number, some may be curious, and some may be protesting the fix being taken out and that action sanctioned by VPF, buy mainly, people just want control of the settings and the tables. Funny though, I have read many complaints about the playability due to the flippers on PDs tables, and some from a person that you said I should listen to because he is wise.

wow, i came off as pretty angry in that last post.

sorry about that... i was half drunk and prolly frustrated that i haven't found a new forum yet.

anyway, the only real objection i have is unauthorised mods.

otherwise it's hard for me to really care about flipper fixes because no matter what's done with them they simply aren't realistic in VP7. maybe randy will come through with the code release and i'll get back into VP one day.

It's not reason not to make them as good as you can. Everyone keeps saying settings. what does it have to do with settings? It's about the ball through the flipper problem. I think it's a fair trade. PacDude mods my work, and I mod his. VPF hosts the core.vbs file, that we were all so happy about when it ridded us of the problem. I object to unauthorised mods to, but written language is not to be under rated is it? It has it's purpose. My mods have the authorization in writing. I would do it even if they did not in this case though, and I don't believe you when you say you have a problem with it in general. I think you just have a problem with me doing it, which I am not. If you had a problem you would object to PacDude taking out what he did not contribute, but you don't, so you can't expect me to believe you.

I can't believe you called me an inveterate liar. You, the same person that said what would happen if I got into trouble, what would happen if I got AJ to reverse my ban, etc. etc, etc. You have in fact never told me the truth, even your last statement that nobody complains about the flippers at VPF.

Nick, what has my lies costed you? Yours has costed me my membership at VPF, when I was expecting AC restriction at worse, for some strange reason.

I would not believe that anyone else would say that to me AND bring up promises other than you or Nick. Do you want it back? Never mind, I've paid enough towards VPF already, with contributions of work and ideas, and tables, and help on tables, and more money than the average contributer any way, an oversees postage is not going to make that much of a difference, I'll get that off to you.
