While playing our black pyramid pinball machine. Some of my lights began to flicker and I smelt a burning smell. I immediately shut down the machine and began to search for burnt area. Upon further notice I found the lamp board had 3 burnt spots on the J4 connector. Looking in the manual it says it's the power to the lamp board. Does anyone know what could be the cause or should I just replace board and connector?

Is it just the connector that is burning. Well I hope so anyway. That is a common problem. The best cure is replacing the connector with a more modern design. There is most likely long enough wires to clip of a bit. Sometime the header needs replacement too. That is a fairly easy fix with moderate soldering skills.
