Flipperless Brio Labyrinths Simple and Advanced

Found a nice source for tomb raider sound effects here.

Repeat with me: I do not want to see a "flat" Lara Croft :D
There acually was nude Lara model
But that would make it even weirder but strangely funny

Wow, reminds me of r/rule34, i.e.
"If it exists, there's an 'adult' version of it. No exceptions."

In Lara's defense though, pretty much a no-brainer in her case, lol.

Not even air is such a sure thing :D

Yeah, that bigger boulder is neat! :D

Do you think it possible to get a 'boulder view' perspective as I described above?
It is possible to always be viewing the rolling ball from behind ( a boulder’s perspective) but it is unplayable unless
1. The tilt controls adjust with orientation of the POV
what I mean is when ball is rolling down the controls are reversed . hmmmm can be done
2. Zoomed out enough to see where you are going

Neat. First time ever impersonating a boulder and one trying to squash Indy of all people :D
Cool factor just went over 9000(tm)

D'oh! Of course.

So I guess... an axis is established for the ball based on the vector of its current (or last) movement. "Forward" translates in to an adjustment that gets split proportionally between the X and Y dials. + or - as the case may be.

Similar situation with "left," "right," & "reverse."

What would the correct formula(e) for that be, though? I think I once did something like this in a table, and I would up using SIN and COS to handle this. Hmm.

Yes
Also , to keep it realistic with box mechanism I would likely have the controls adjust in 90 degree swings only

What I mean is the box dials and mechanism just rotate up and down or left and right not in other angular ways.

Ah yeah, that sounds better. That way you don't have to invent a custom control method which really isn't appropriate to the spirit of Labyrinth, anyway.

So the real challenge there is not the controls, but getting the behind-view to work in a useful way.

I could see that being really jerky if it simply orients to the last 90° swing. Better perhaps if it orients to the current vector of motion or alternatively, some kind of average based on the last 90° swing or current location of hero. Hmm.

You are right I may have to try it both ways… it may be the table pov will be so zoomed in that you won’t see the Labyrinth table mechanism anyways so we can mess with reality .

It’s kinda like car gps system POV

I used to insist on a zoomed out view with proper N-S-E-W orientation so I knew where the hell I was actually goin

Now like all the other sheep I use the zoomed-in view that looks like you are always going North and trust that Waze will not take me into the abyss! 🤪🤪😜
