The following no doubt deserves to be part of a proper 8-bit classics thread, but I guess I'll just share it here (and to be fair, it technically is indeed browser-playable):
Me, I've always loved Battle Zone and the various riffs and expansions upon such, for example the Stellar 7 trilogy, Spectre (altho I think that one might have been Mac-only), and whatever else. See, BZ is just so cool and atmospheric, and I even liked fooling myself that if I kept driving towards the erupting volcano in the distance, that I'd eventually get there and win a big prize! XD
(know what I mean, BZ fans?)
Anyway, one thing I was totally clueless about until just recently is that the basic Stellar 7 for PC received a HUGE upgrade over the original, which I used to play on C64 and Apple 2. Seriously, it's way more challenging and tricky, altho it does also have many more special features on your tank. Check it out and play it here, y'all--
