Bally Solved Elvira and the Party Monsters (Bally, 1989) Problem

My machine has a problem with the music feature, in self test mode, it will play 3 of the 7 types of music possible, with the other 4, nothing. The sound board has been professionally repaired and tested OK in another machine.

Has anyone out there experienced a similar problem and if so, what was your fix? I need some ideas.

sound board problem. if the sound board has been repaired and tested fine in another machine, my next thing to do would be changing the ribbon cable to the sound board. its possible 1 of the ribbon cable data line wires is bad, not allowing all sounds to be made. doing a resistance check on all the ribbon cable wires might all test fine, there might be a intermit. connection which might not show good all the time. if ribbon cable replacement doesnt solve the problem, the cpu chip that drives the sound board logic would be next.

Problem Resolved

New CPU board along with a complete restoration, including LEDs and power coating legs, lock bar and side rails. Looks and plays great!
