Thanks forchia. None of ballsaver's post were edited in any way. I don't believe in ever saying never, so I could eventually decide to become a moderator again. But for now, I feel I've made the best choice for myself, and for the site.

From what I remember BallSaver was posting flames within 5 minutes of turning up here. Really I'm all for equal opportunity but track record means you are treated a bit differently. PD has a track record, he has made a lot of tables and made a positive contribution to the community. Sometimes I find PD a bit harsh and direct but that seems to be his nature. BallSaver was abusive. Maybe he shouldn't have been banned so quickly but a moderator sometimes has to make a quick decision and the reason certain people are moderators is that their opinions are trusted. Even if there is some inconsistency, which is inevitable, moderators should be people we trust. I can't think of anyone we can trust more than TiltJlP, for that matter, for all his abrasiveness at times I respect PD not just for his ability to make tables but also for the fact that when challenged to take on a moderator role he said yes. I think moderating is a tough job and people need to go a bit easier if they disagree with decisions made by moderators.
