Just bought my first machine. Judge Dredd superpin. The left flipper is sticking but I can hit all the shots when it comes unstuck. The right flipper seems weak. I can't get the ball up the ramp to dredd world

Solution
Where to buy the stuff? Also most pins I have a level built in? Did dredd not come with one?

Depends first of all where you are!
Are you in the US? UK? Elsewhere?
http://www.pbresource.com/rebuildkit.html is good
http://www.pinballheaven.co.uk/shop/product_info.php?products_id=847 is also very good

There are many others as well.

Dredd does not come with a level built in - in fact only 1 of my 5 games does (Whirlwind). Again you can buy these for a small amount (not sure about pbresource, but I know I've bought them from Pinball Heaven...but I am based in the UK).

BTW - There are loads of other places, probably better than here, for advice on REAL pinball machine repair & maintenance.

Hope this helps,
Dan.

Congratulations on getting your 1st pin :salut: (you'll soon learn that they get lonely, and use their pyschic powers to influence your decision to buy another one to keep it company)

Get & fit a flipper rebuild kit (well actually you'll need 2 for that machine - 2 flippers done per kit).

Most pin-spares places sell them...makes a big difference to flippers.

(btw - I've had a JD for several years - ace pin :joy:)

Hope this helps,
Dan.

here is Betsons link THE place for most anything pinball related. We used to buy from them exclusively way back in the 80's (back then they carried EVERYTHING from the sit-down cabinets to Gottleib, Williams, Bally, Data East, and others) but they are still in business

you can buy a level most anywhere, HomeDepot sells little levels also for about 5$ US
oh and if the flipper sticks flip the table up and look at the rod that passes thru the solenoid sometimes thru extensive use the end of it becomes mushroomed causing it to stick and burn the solenoid up! just take it out and file down around the outer edge of it to make it beveled, that should solve the stickling problem. While you are in there check the sleeve it travels thru. it may have cracks in it also, causing the flipper to stick and clean it with a good plastic cleaner or just a clean cloth inside that sleeve.

LOL - you can tell that you used to fix machines up for an operator and not your own machines! They'll do anything to not spend any money.:dollar:

Seriously for the sake of a few £'s ($'s whatever), get a couple of flipper rebuild kits! It will solve all the above problems, and last much longer than trying to fix what you've already got.
If you are desperately short of cash and you don't want to spend as much as 2 complete rebuild kits, at a minimum buy new sleeves, rods (they come with the plastic 'hoop' bit on the end) & coil end stops.

The only time I would start filing down flipper rods & cleaning coil sleeves is if I had NO other option.

Regards,
Dan.
