Bally Solved Lost World (Bally, 1978) losing power

I have a Lost World machine that keeps loosing power but when I shut it off and restart it, it will start back up. Any ideas where to start??

Define looses power. Does the machine go completely dark or just lock up (ie score displays blank and no playfield lights).

All the scores go to zero and the flippers stop working. You usually just have to turn it off and on a few times and then it starts up

Sounds to me like a loose connection between the power supply and the MPU board. I had a simular problem a while back with a Firepower machine. If you hit both flippers at the same time the thing would end the game and reboot. Check the connector in the backbox at the MPU board and the power supply. Take them loose and reseat them and see if it improves the situation.

If your game resets when hitting the flippers check for broken diodes on flipper coils.

Thanks so much. I am just getting ready to start trouble shooting. Do either of you happen to know the voltage of the battery? It is not on it and I was assuming 3.6v. The battery is completly dead

3.6v is correct. The following will work nicely.

before you start please get and learn how to use a multimeter.
this will save you having to ask about all of the fuses or voltages
on the boards each time. There may be other batteries elsewhere as well.
But if you are just starting now, hell, check every connection.
From the play field's underside once you flip it up of course,
to the boards themselves. All the plugs in the head, too.
get a decent board cleaner, Blue Shower comes to mind for that,
if it's a real old or beat up or even a heavily played pin at one time,
check all the solder bumps at the bases of all the copper outside connectors on the boards too. Use an eye loupe for that look for cracks all around each solder cone.
Good luck with troubleshooting a pin, they love to get running shorts too, and those may be tough to track down sounds like fun though,
