WIP Original Table BAM FizX FP Masters of the Universe - Collector's Edition

Future Pinball
FEEDBACK HAS BEEN VERY HELPFUL!

Thanks to everyone who has provided feedback (and with pics and videos, etc) with whatever problems they were having! This helps immensely as I can see what is going on with things I can't replicate myself (some being the result of non-english related Windows locale issues, etc). This lead to the fixes implemented in update 1.1.

EVERYONE, please install the 1.1 update!

Please give feedback if having problems still, or if it seemed to help or fix your issues... anything.

If some are still having problems:

- in rare cases a couple of balls may jam a kicker / scoop entrance (Skeletor) and force a ball out of bounds. I can't prevent this (that I know of). If this happens, an Orko Shot won't be able to retrieve the ball. Your only option at that point is to TILT, and allow the game to force an end of ball and resume.

- if you have a low spec PC (slower CPU, low vram, low RAM, etc), this game simply may not run correctly for you! It doesn't matter if other PinEvent tables run fine for you. This was a game made for 2024 with all the modern features and physics that entails. Those things require a capable PC (but not a powerhouse PC either). This is not your FP from 2010 anymore! This is the most powerful pinball in the universe darn it! :)

BTW... if it hasn't said by me yet...

Thank you to everyone for the overwhelmingly positive reception to this table! It's very humbling to see so many enjoy the same kind of game I do (no matter what app its made / played on), and the compliments you have been giving have been very kind! It's awesome to see the extra efforts I put in (to so many details and the crazy amount of content / modes / features) is noticed and enjoyed by everyone. This is not your typical "play for 5 minutes" pinball game... and I'm glad to see everyone is discovering the many cool things it has that will keep you coming back to this for a very long time.

TIPS

USE your ORKO SHOTS and Toggle Modes! So many people are missing these very cool and critical features. It's a complete game changer, and unlike anything you'll see on other pinball games! Once you catch on to how it works... its a very fun and helpful feature!

Don't forget about Power Perks! The rewards don't expire (they are saved to your fpRAM file for the table) and can be very helpful towards becoming Master of the Universe and completing the game!

Show everyone your best Score but also your most Collections!

Masters of the Universe - Collector's Edition

Lost / stuck Balls still? Try this? May or may not help.

(make sure you have the new 1.1 update first!)

To anyone having the ball get stuck / lost in Skeletor kicker, or other odd issues (but its running fine otherwise)...

Check the BAM menu (~ or q) and goto Addons. If the "Frame Limiter" is set to OFF, try changing it to AUTO (which is normally the default setting). This is NOT a vsync / fps limiter... but more an internal timing limiter that may allow some events to trigger too quickly or repeatedly if set to OFF, and may cause an odd problem depending on the player's PC and other settings.

While having that set to OFF normally doesnt cause a problem, it doesn't hurt to see if this helps anyone having things like this happen.

I think my default BAM Settings for cabinet and desktop had this set to OFF, so I want to see if I should be changing that to AUTO just in case now.

Please give it a try and let me know how it plays.

If you have other problems by setting Frame Limiter to AUTO (stutters, etc)... then make sure you have the futurepinball.exe set to "disable fullscreen optimizations" first, as without that set you'll get the odd stutters occurring which is a separate thing.

If still having problems... change Frame Limiter back to OFF if it works better for you.

Don't forget to have your Orko Shots before the new year! :)

v1.2 update

- added PUP_SSF_Max_Volume setting to TABLE OPTIONS - PinEvent
- moved PUP_BallRoll_Max_Volume setting to TABLE OPTIONS - PinEvent
- added Lost_Ball_Key option if player lost a ball from a glitch, has no balls left, and can't progress (TABLE OPTIONS)
- added Force_Tilt_key option in case game became stuck and player can't progress (TABLE OPTIONS)

Lost_Ball_Key and Force_Tilt_key are disabled by default. They are only meant as a last resort option if your game became stuck for whatever reason and you can't progress.

v1.3 update

- updated ballsaver code to always reset when ball kicked out of plungerlane (except for MB modes)
- fix for Mekaneck Mystery Ready pupdmd label getting stuck on during specific moments
- hide pupdmd png animations during ram-man and battlecat "collected" events
- updated left ramp and added fixes to (hopefully) prevent anymore superspeed balls coming off that ramp
- Perks or Points: now shows how many Power Perks are available and how many Power Points you can get before making a choice

Note: you can always exit out of choosing Perks if you change your mind. Choosing Points however is permanent)

If you had any previous versions of the table already installed, make sure the new 1.3 table file uses the same filename you used before so it will use your CFG file (for pov) that you have installed, and so it uses your fpRAM file which has your high scores and Power Perks saved.

Yes, it's a long ass video. A table this large has lots to talk about. If you want, take some time to learn how some of the magic (and my brain) works.

That's what chapters are for :)

Great table, but why no dof ??

As described in the table's included Install Instructions... this table (and all PinEvent tables) does have DOF, and you need to update your DOF Config Tool files to get this table's "new" DOF Config. This needs to be done when any new table comes out with a brand new DOF Config.

It also tells you that you also must not have DOFLinx running (if installed) when running any PinEvent table, as it will interfere with the table's DOF.

If you've updated those DOF Config Tool files and don't have DOFLinx running at all, and you still don't have DOF... check other PinEvent tables. They should all work, as they all operate the same way. If you can't get any PinEvent table's DOF working, then your 32 bit DOF install may be messed up and needs to be sorted out (read my FAQ and Help guide for a possible solution). It's not a FP / PinEvent table problem.

I wanted to start from scratch and then reinstall pinup popper with future pinball and I realize that I am not able to redo all that I had already done on another less powerful system, As you have already created pinEvent which works perfectly, is there a tutorial on how to make your own pinevent.

Well how to configure PinUp Popper at the same time. I quickly forget I can no longer record the backglass and other details.

PinEvent = TerryRed FP tables using my own set of features / standards that I create / support. It's my own label to show that a table was specifically made / modded / updated by me to a very specific standard and feature set that each table will have.

For anyone else to add all the same features, especially pupdmd, is not a simple task to say the least. You can use the AIO Example table to at least add basic DOF and PUP SSF support along with FizX... but that won't make a table a PinEvent table.

Popper is a front-end and a completely different thing than FP PinEvent tables. There are other groups / pages for support for Popper, as well as the pup wiki page.

thanks for the details, As I have already experimented, I was wondering why with your pinevent tables, we get a 16/9 screen automatically with pinup popper on the backglass screen.
RetroFlair which is offered with pinup popper integrates perfectly.
I use the "AIO example" code as a "patch" which saves me a lot of time and just adds good. But a pinevent example would be welcome, I like what you do and your work is added value for each FP user.

What you want is PUP features added to a FP table. That is not the same as what "PinEvent" entails (which again, is for my own tables only), which is much much more and alot more complex. Its not something I can make into a tutorial. In all honesty, its hard enough to get everyone to understand the basics of what the AIO table uses correctly. It's taken me years to get to the point of where I'm at now, and I need to reteach myself each time I add PinEvent features to a new table... and its an immense amount of work.

You can create a custom pup-pack to use with your table as the AIO table code already supports that. Make sure the name of your pup-pack matches what the table code is using.

Read the pup wiki link for info about making a pup-pack.

Use the pupevent command to trigger whatever media / video you added to your pup-pack.

Example:

pupevent 102

...will trigger the E102 event in the pup-pack.

Oh. My. God.
I didn't find the time to play the table until today.
It's amazing!
So many childhood memories.

Thank you, thank you, thank you!

John Erwin passed away Dec 2024. His family just recently announced his passing.

I decided to just play my own game and do a creator commentary.
