I used too.
I can still see far away, but I have trouble seeing up close now. Can't read date on coin, grocery receipt, presciptions.
Seems the older I get, the worse it gets.

Your lower resolution post confirms the slightly higher resolution is enough to make a perceivable difference.

You know, I don't think I ever tried to upload the 1200x200, because I had found 1178 takes it to edge.
But I wonder if I can keep the option set at 1178x196 but upload the 1200x200 version?
Maybe it will make difference?
Might be worth testing.

Here you go Charles I zoomed in 500% on the mini cows, side by side, higher res vs lower res.



That stealth cow could just about evade Predator now!

I was able to upload the 1200x200 and it didn't go past the edge!!
Not sure if I saw a difference though, but i am the blind one!!
I would have to upload the 1200x200 cow logo, let you take pic at 500%, then you tell me you have pic, then I upload the 1178 and you take pic of that one at 500%.
Want to try it?
What was the theme you are using. Shades of Grey (Original)?
I can just add it just to your theme to test.

For sure, I recall when I uploaded my avatar and user background, I was impressed with the way the forum software had been able to render the reduced images without artefacts, clear and crisp.

Tell me what theme you are using and I will upload the 1200x200 only to that theme.
Then send me message when you have pic, and i will upload the 1178x196, then send me another message when you have 2nd pic, so I can put it back on Valentines logo.

Got the snap, though I could only go to 300% as above that the logo reduced itself to minimal size? Then again, I am using a 2560x1440 screen, maybe too many pixels to process above 300%.

True that and until now I did not realise the source image was a little rough around the edges, maybe cleaned up to reduced to 50% might produce some more stunning results?

We could at the very least double the logo size...2400x400.

Although at a greatly reduced size via the forum render those 'rough' edges would most likely become invisible.
