Here is the the side by side version....(I only had 5 more frames to complete when you asked me to change it.)

I think it will look better stacked on top instead of side by side, so i am glad you asked to change it to that.

Can't believe not a word mentioned about the animated logo from anyone!

Check out the lights blinking on the Star Wars version...
It is only 2 frames set at 1 second interval, just to see what it would look like.
I could make it light up 1 at a time, to make it look like a space battle is going on.

Looks like it should work, I am surprised that it still renders that well with the 256 colour .gif limit. I think the simple red/blue donut overlays maybe a little too simplistic, maybe something like a starburst firework pattern?

I also like your idea of alternating explosions!

Yes I was just experimenting with the blue and red.
I was just going to brighten the dots and not add any color.
Starburst pattern would really look great!

Yes, have it look like there are alternating flashes from battle in the background!
If done right, this could look spectacular!
 
We should feature the Star Wars pinball by Terry Red on the first as well.
 
I found some cool explosions, but I don't think I have time to put it together before tonight.
So I just made it where lights blink in background.
This one is set for 1 second interval.

Looks great on that darker theme you are using!
 
So I added 4 more frames of dots lighting up. So went from 6 frames to 10 frames.

Then I decided to light up a few of the laser blasts!

If the laser blasts version doesn't look good to you, I will upload the 10 frame version above it.
EDIT:
I am going to go ahead and upload the 10 frame version, and then if lasers pass your eye test, I will upload that version
 
Lazers are great, nice addition, just don't explode the Death Star! :jedi2:
 
So I redid the lasers, as I wanted it to look like laser firing, and then explosion at end of laser. (I had explosion going off on first laser.)
Added 1 more frame to make 11.
Now it looks like the laser hit something and it exploded (located in the center of logo.)

Fixed all of the lit lasers to look like they fire first, and then the ball explodes. (Lights up.)
Looks like an epic space battle going on in the background!
Remember this is only my 2nd GIF project ever, so it will only get better!

Lit up the thrusters on X-Wing. I don't think it looks that great.

Marginal, as they have plasma drive in space, it don't sputter like a V8... :geek:
