New Skeleton table

Job's life has just ended and was the most productive life there ever was.

Job couldn't have carried Leonardo da Vinci's jock.

Phil, the problem isn't whether the ball goes through the flipper or what is in the core.vbs, it is how you handle yourself when these confrontations happen. You go nuts and cuss people out and even threaten them. No one else does that and is still a member of any moderated site.

For the record, the BTTF fix in VP8 does work. Everyone who knows about it knows this. You figured out why the ball went through the flipper with your extensive tests where you repeated fired balls at the flippers in a mock table. If a person creates his table in the way you say, the ball will never go through the flipper in preVP9 versions. The problem is not everyone knows the whole fix or cares or used it.

No average VP user has ever opened the core.vbs file with notepad, so they never knew what was in it or how PacDude changed it so many tables were stuck with the many balls through the flipper, but not his. He changed it out of spite, it was changed back, old news that no one even cared about back then. If you remember, I sided with you on that issue and Pacdude as many people do, then thought I was an ass. I hate how some people can't disagree with each other and still be friends.

All of your bans have been because of your attitude after the incident, I'm sure if you get pulled over by a cop, there is a good chance that he is calling for backup and you are going to jail handcuffed, even though you were only doing 27 mph in a 20 mph school zone.... At least you would if it was a cypercop. :)

I still like you though and I still don't agree with lifetime bans and I wish you could have a read only account at VPF and I wish if you had this R/O account and you didn't say squat about the past for 30 or 60 days and you would then be re-instated at VPF and then the next time you fuck up, you are just banned again for 30 days. No discussions, no explaining, no bitching, just have Noah flip the switch on and off for your account. It would make life easier for everyone in this community.

I understand it's how I react to these confrontations, but you have to understand that it is the fact just as well that these confrontations come up. If it did not work. exactly as described, there would be no point in executing a campaign to get anyone they could to believe otherwise. There would be no one to convince. So the point in doing so is something else. There could possibly be no point in going off the wall with remarks like it is instant, it does not simulate a gravity action that snaps flippers back in real life machines, or especially the personal things like it should be taken out of VP8. That has been tried, and not without admins. support either, and it was not let to continue by the membership that relied on it. It is also, as should be pointed out, something that works automatically, but also something that can be over-ridden and is automatically over-ridden by anyone, even if they are unaware, that sets the speeds themselves, which is just as doable as it is in the core, and rightly over-rides the code in the core.

How could something that is this used and appreciated and non intrusive as this, being that it has no assertion when preferred settings are used be something that should be taken out. And why would people that do not even use VP8 anymore be leading the campaign to have it at least accepted that it would not be a bad thing, or have any effect to be taken out. Not only what would have them say such things, but what would have them thinking these things. It pretending that they have no understanding at best, though actually best if they actually didn't have any understanding, which I don't believe they don't. I believe they do understand this. I could not think they understood one of VP's most basic axioms though and think that these remarks were anything other than an a personal attack. One that came without provocation. It was also stated that VP8 was dead, but it does not mean that it should be stripped of function.

Likewise the keyboard nudge function. The response to that was just as off the wall. A great many people then and even now were not saying that they wanted someones else's definition of realistic nudge action in VP9 for a key press. It was said that the code exists in a keystroke routine in previous, all previous versions of VP that worked good enough. The response to that was VP9's keyboard function is better than VP8's ever was. It too wen off the wall to include statements like the ball rolling up the screen when bumping, and even being able to drive the ball with nudging was realistic. Likewise this is impossible to believe from anyone with an understanding of or experience with real pinball games.

Could you imagine if it was me saying these things, instead of the things I was saying Bob? Assuming that they actually knew better? That stuff would have no longer been 'opinion' but again harassment.

These people are not idiots. Not really. There is another driving force that would have them on this farce.

Imagine too if I was the one attacking them, their contributions with issues that has no base in fact, but were meant only to incite. Would they then be characterized and opinions. When my opinions are not characterized as opinions attacks of that kind certainly would not be.

But the sad thing is not that these things happened is it. It's that I would respond to them. And they would play a game of non-understanding to have me repeat myself.

I have expressed that my hope was to be able to try out the new version of the tables and the VP program, and that I had no interest in the forums, because I no longer have anything on hand to contribute to them. Chatting I think as well that I should have because I never broke the rules of the chat. The forum I think I should have access to, because I did not break a single rule that was not broken from staff and some members to incite such a response, but I would let the forum go and the chat, because in a way, if he really wants to, can honestly say he has a right to do with or without reason. The work of the community I have always been a part of, thus a small part of the work that continues is harder for me to accept as a personal choice of anyone else. It would be impossible to take out my contributions, with out taking out many tables where I supplied graphics, techniques, programming help, or other support, not to mention the work around for the ball and flipper problem, which everyone I can think of besides one or two people says is actually better than loosing a ball, with all the faults it does have.

da Vinci could not and did not put anywhere near as much, in nearly as many hands as Jobs did. But I understand where you are coming from. Some of da Vinci's ideas were truly original, while Job's was the more human, next steps, expanding on existing ideas. Ideas do not equate to product all the time and is true of many of da Vinci's. At least not in his own life time, or the lives of his contemporaries. By the time some of his ideas came to be they were actually more related to the next step, expanding on existing ideas, discovery than to his original designs. This make his ideas more Prophesy than product.

No.
Jobs expanded on the existing ideas of creators before the creators expanded their own ideas by themselves.
Jobs was a claim jumper who took advantage, not an expander.
The creators were still in the process of raising revenue and/or recovering their principle investments as Jobs used Apple's cash flow, with buy-ins from Microsoft, to get 'the next step out there'.

Me, I don't even own a jock strap...

That's what I was talking about. That and the two points following is what they all either do, or wish they had done. If that did not happen there would be just one person, and where there is one there is really not much innovation incentive. Besides he would be dead by now.

I wanted to thank you for that Bob. I have always liked you, even when my arguments with you may have seemed to suggest otherwise. Logic and support is appreciated, but I suspect has served to make Paul run away. He's hurt me, and he wishes to go on hurting me. Leaving me as I left him. Buried alive! He needs your support.

I might have to take that back, after you virtually accused me of registering an alt under the name, of all things, pacdude.

I promised I would not make an alt, and I haven't and won't. It would take more than lies to make a liar out of me.

My sister across town is getting my old (1 1/2 year old AMD 64 dual core 2.7) and cable internet. So in less than two weeks at least I will have access to VP and some VP9 tables. The account will not be mine though. So if you encounter a female handle with a tendency to tell the truth...

well I don't think dual core helps with vp9, I think it still runs on one,
but what chipset or graphics card does it have?
that is important too with the newer pins made with vp9.1.2

The problem is not running the games. Both computers will do that. The problem is having access to them.

  • ChatGPT @ ChatGPT:
@JonPurpleHaze, Allan Sherman was an American comedy writer, television producer, and song parodist, best known for his novelty song parodies in the early 1960s. His work often parodied popular songs of the time with comical and cleverly written lyrics. Sherman's most famous song is probably "Hello Muddah, Hello Fadduh," a humorous take on a child's letter from camp, set to the tune of Amilcare Ponchielli's "Dance of the Hours."

Comparing Allan Sherman to other artists depends on the context:

    1. **Musical Style**: Sherman's style was unique for its time, focusing on parody and comedy within music. He might be compared to "Weird Al" Yankovic, who became famous in the 1980s and beyond for a similar style of musical parody. Both artists share a talent for clever wordplay and satire, though their musical eras and the styles of music they parody are different.

@Free Bally!, Humor in music is subjective, but there are several songs about movies or that reference movies that are known for their comedic elements. Here are a few that might be considered funny due to their lyrics, music videos, or overall themes:

    1. "The Saga Begins" by "Weird Al" Yankovic - A parody of Don McLean's "American Pie," this song humorously recounts the plot of "Star Wars: Episode I – The Phantom Menace."

    2. "Eat It" by "Weird Al" Yankovic - While not specifically about movies, this parody of Michael Jackson's "Beat It" has a music video that humorously references various films and has become iconic in its own right.

    3. "Science Fiction/Double Feature" from "The Rocky Horror Picture Show" - This song humorously references classic science fiction and horror movies and is the opening number of the cult classic film.

    4. "Carlotta Valdez" by Harvey Danger - This song

@Free Bally!, Humor is subjective, and there isn't an official ranking for the funniest songs about the movies. However, I can suggest a few humorous songs related to movies that you might find entertaining:

    1. "The Saga Begins" by "Weird Al" Yankovic – A parody of Don McLean's "American Pie," this song humorously summarizes the plot of "Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace."

    2. "Eat It" by "Weird Al" Yankovic – Although not directly about movies, this parody of Michael Jackson's "Beat It" has been featured in various movie soundtracks and is known for its comedic take on the original song.

    3. "Celluloid Heroes" by The Kinks – While not a comedy song, it has a whimsical take on the idea of movie stars and Hollywood.

    4. "Carlotta Valdez" by Harvey Danger – This song humorously retells the plot of Alfred Hitchcock's "Vertigo

@JonPurpleHaze, When discussing "adult movie songs," I'm assuming you're referring to songs from movies with mature themes or soundtracks from films that are not suitable for children, rather than songs from adult films in the pornographic sense. Music from such films often includes powerful, evocative tracks that contribute significantly to the movie's atmosphere and storytelling. Here's a list of some memorable songs from movies with adult themes:

    1. "Unchained Melody" by The Righteous Brothers - Featured in "Ghost" (1990)
    2. "Girl, You'll Be a Woman Soon" by Urge Overkill - Featured in "Pulp Fiction" (1994)
    3. "In Your Eyes" by Peter Gabriel - Featured in "Say Anything..." (1989)
    4. "I Will Always Love You" by Whitney Houston - Featured in "The Bodyguard" (1992)
    5. "Lose Yourself" by Eminem - Featured in "8 Mile" (2002)
