Rar. Files for backglass not working

Hi guys. Im just having some success loading VPX Tables but run into trouble when the backglass file is a rar.file. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Try installing 7zip, a free tool that opens many file formats including RAR files.

After installing, just Right Click on the RAR file with mouse and click Extract. The file extracted will contain the backglass.
A RAR file is similiar to a ZIP file, but has better compression.

Will the file then be a B2S ?
I already extracted the file and put in table file w/vpx file. I name then the same but can't seem to get any results. Thank you for your help me btw i am just getting into the modding with a ALP. Happy New Year's.

Just think of RAR files like they are ZIP files. The goodies are inside and need to be extracted!

I am not a Future Pinball expert, so best to wait for one of the FP experts to answer you.
You could try right clicking on the BAM shortcut, and click Properties, and checkmark Run as Administrator.
If it doesn't work, you can easily switch it back.

Meditation Errors on FP Tables are usually generated by errors or problems in the script. Is there a specific one you had in mind?

Hello, I'm having the same problem as well. Only when I find and download a backglass rar file they seem to be unzipped already? It's a little black pinball without the x that the tables have. I put it into the folder where all my backglass files go and it won't open. Can someone please explain what to do? I'm no computer wiz here.

Think of RAR files as another form of a ZIP file.
The goodies are inside the file and need to be extracted.

I have been extracting RAR files for many many years with 7zip program.
First download the program.
Choose 32 or 64 bit version, depending on your computer. Most newer computers will be 64 bit versions.
After you download the program, go to where you saved it, and double click it, to start the installation.
After you have installed the free 7zip program, then you right click on the RAR file with your mouse, and click Extract Here.

Or give me link to the file you are having trouble with, and I will extract it for you.

Then 28 image files.
Then version. I click in there and it has visual pinball 9.9.5 and visual pinball 10.6.0

9.9.5 gives me a loading error message.

And 10.6.0 gives me same thing.

That sounds like a Visual Pinball Table, and not a RAR file. No need to extract VPX file.
What is the name of the table and where did you download it from?
What does the error message say when you try with 10.6.0?

The name of the table is Star Gazer. I was able to download the vpx table from vpx forum. However the backglass is the other part I need to make the game whole. I cannot find a vpx b2sfile anywhere. This was one of my favorite games as a teenager. It sucks that I can't play it with the backglass. I wish there was a way to get it, but it doesn't seem possible. If you can help me obtain this table complete I would really appreciate it.

The VPX file is the table.
The Backglass will have a .directb2s at end.

The Felsir version backglass looks like it is RAR'ed, so I extracted it and am adding as an attachment as zip file.
Let me know when you have downloaded it, so I can delete attachment.

It still doesn't work I was able to put the directb2s file in the downloads folder. It appears the table is not a vpx after all it's a v1.2? Is there a vpx table available?

v1.2 is a VP9 table.
I left link above to VPX version table.
The backglass should work with VP9 or VPX.
The backglass needs to be in the same folder the table is in.

Do you have the Star Gazer rom in your roms folder?

You should have a VPinMAME folder, the roms folder is inside that, located where you installed the Visual Pinball program.
You do have Visual Pinball installed correct?

The table was made for me by a friend. Everything is working fine. I'm just having a problem with Star Gazer. It still does not work even after putting in the roms.
