Steve's toys

Sounds good. I would give preference to any playfield larger than that 1024x2048 or backglasses larger than 1024x1024. There may be some textures equal to those sizes that have good clarity that would be worth saving. When I started working on Avatar, someone used a standard image editor and enlarged the playfield to 2048x4096 but it looked terrible. So you might watch out for that kind of thing.

If someone put together a complete package of textures for a build with playfield, backglass, plastics, bumper caps etc, it would be rather sad to see it separated out. That said, full packages didn't seem very prevalent when I looked through this stuff in the past. High res stuff didn't seem very prevalent either. Something rare would have value even if it is normal res. A good check might be to see if any tables have been built of it.
OK.
I have uploaded them all.
I divided them up into 5 parts to keep them under 200 MB's.
What do you think?

Looks good. Thanks!

We didn't add the PinSimDB tables to our tables section.
I think these resources should have their own section also. (I actually made these sections when I first started uploading the tables. See Pic.)
Most of these resources come with a zip file to download, unlike our resources section in Media section which only has pics.

I will start uploading them tonight, and I will start with the Z's and end with the A's.
That way they will show in alphabetical order when finished.
Understood!
Yet I'd also like to posit--

From my experience across this interesting planet, people tend to like searching for unified content in unified places... like in a library! For example-- does it make sense to go to the main library, then be told that the stuff you want is actually at a different library, a few blocks down? Actually, that really is TRUE for certain material!

Alright, fine, I'm an idiot. Still-- what's the point of breaking the content apart just because it came from a different place? Does that actually help the users find what they're looking for? And isn't that top priority amongst sites like these?

YES, I get that splitting the PSDB tables apart made sense. That was a massive haul, and totally worked, particularly as your amazing preservation jam, Charles.

But splitting the sub-content in to little niches? Sure, I get the accountant-themed logic, there. That's cool.

Just that-- that doesn't seem to ACTUALLY help the users find what they want, and I've always felt that getting people what they want as swiftly as possible was priority #1 in the pin-sim scene.

Why? Because theoretically, it builds our userbase, builds mutual goodwill, and helps the overall pin-sim scene, which I assume we're all giddy-goat signed up for! (pardon, Maurice Moss moment!)

Okay, the above will be my last annoying comment upon the matter. Byee...!

So you want me to post each item, (304 items) individually in the Media section?
I would need to divide them into groups to match your categories in the Media section, Playfields and Backglasses, and Plastics.
Some come grouped in a zip file. Do I unzip and add all of those items individually too?
I am all in for helping users find what they want.
I was not "splitting the sub-content in to little niches".
I was just putting all of the content from the PinSimDB Website all in one place, under the PinSimDB Archive Section.
I of course can also add them to the Media section Ike.
Not a problem.
Thanks for your input.
It is appreciated.
Carry on.

EDIT:
Here is an example.
i am starting with Z and going towards A, so they show up alphabetically when finished.

So the first item is ZANKOR Backglass.
Well this comes with a Rar file.
If you noticed, you cannot upload a zip or rar or any compressed files in the Media section. Only Pics.
So I unrar the file and it comes with 5 pics. (See pics I added as attachments.)
So what do I do with the 5 pics? Upload them in different categories? 1 Backglass, 1 Bumper, 1 cab front, 1 playfield, etc.
Or do I add them all as an album?
What would you do?

Oh dang, thanks for explaining! :o
Honestly, I'm not sure that such has ever been *quite* the situation before across PN's history.

Like-- I'm familiar with Jon sorting content from online sharing tools into categories here, and I love in every way how such can be a 'problem.' (and damn, that was a lot of work :s)

But say what you want, these are the problems one WANTS to have! :D

Anyway, dang... I thought in my capital doofusness that we were talking exclusiveness about backglasses, but it seems like for each file there's a range of media resources? Do I understand that correctly?

If so, then YES-- I would think that unzipping the content, then sorting them in to the existing categories would easily make the most sense?

Again-- when someone visits a library, is there a particularly good reason for the librarian to say "no no, that material's off in the left wing extension." And when the visitor asks WHY?, the librarian says "because the builder was feeling it that day, that's why!"

All hail the builder, for sure, FO SHO!

Then again it maybe considered an historic encyclopaedia of pinball with 5 or so volumes all indexed.

Cool classic Zac.

Also of note, many of these resources are duplicates of what is available at IPDB...

Zankor for example...

So I only uploaded the Zankor Backglass out of the 5 pics.

The next folder is Xenon.
Here is what the info on the text says...

by GetMoreSun, hammerhead
at 2012-12-12
Type Table graphic
Subtype None

Description
Images (2)

Backglass by GetMoreSun

Plastic scan by hammerhead

Well the backglass by GetMoreSun is just a regular pic of backglass.
22929.jpeg
(Compared to Zankor Backglass pic, which can be used as resource to make backglass.)
ZANKOR (Zaccaria, 1986) BG.jpg

I am not going to upload the Xenon Backglass pic.
But the plastic scan pic included in Xenon folder can be used, so I will upload that.
22930.jpeg
So I am only going to upload resource pics that are ready to be used, like the 2 examples above.
The others can be found in the 5 part collection, and there is no sense in having a copy of them in 2 places.

Hey! Thx guys for the kind words 😀
Found this thread with chatgpt...How is pinball still? Weird for me to say but this has been 20 years, in 2025, I made my first pinball Big spender. Anyway...if any of you want to chat, ley me know.

Pinball is still kicking around. I had a health crisis a couple years ago (had a stroke that messed me up for a long time, and then heart surgery, but mostly better now)... but I'm back at making pinball stuff.

This was my last project I finished (after 18 months of work) back in December. A massive amount of modeling / painting and lots and lots of new crazy toys and modes and new custom animation in this one, let alone the rest of the new content. The table file alone is over 800 MB :)

..and how it looks in VR and MR.

Now I'm back at working on Silent Hill again... digging back into Blender and lots of modeling and baking. I'm redoing most of the table (which is 8+ tables in one so far), so the pf art and other things are a mess... but the new combat system looks cool.

These newer tables look amazing in VR on a maxed out PC.

Wow! It has been a long time. I am still updating tables. I just posted an update of the Williams Indiana Jones table. Gimli and I worked on it several years ago and I updated it. It is very complex. Then I updated Roney Pinball's Road Runner table. I sometimes like to go back to an easier table for a break from the complex ones. I am working on Roney Pinball's Galaxia right now. I played this table a lot when I first started playing pinball. I decided to a a couple of ramps to it:

Sweet memory but don't get old, Steve. Big Spender was in April 2008. The 20th anniversary will be at the end of October for the release of FP.
I hope you and Caroline are well.

B2S server.exe Version 2.5.0.320 How can you make the B2SDMD stay on Visible. Make it the default instead of hidden. Did new install of 10.8 final have many tables I would have to open to change to visible instead of hidden. Any help would be much appreciated.
