Hi,

I have a old collection of VP 1 to 6 tables

I want to play / test some of them for nostalgia and fun

But on my VP installation (VPX7 aio installer) I have VP 8 to VPX , nothing older than VP 8

Should I use VP 8 to open the said tables , or do I have to install VP 6 / 7 ?

If so , how should I do that ?

Best regards

You want to use this old VP6 version found here for the older tables..

It is just and exe file.
You can put in same folder right next to your other VP.exe's.

Thanks !

I download the VP6 .exe file , but it in my VP folder along with other VP executables , run it , and open the related tables with the 'open table' dialog within , right ?

Do I need to set it up to work with VPinmame or would it automatically see Vpm installed ?

Correct.
Do I need to set it up to work with VPinmame or would it automatically see Vpm installed ?
If a table uses PinMAME, it will do this automatically.

Thanks a bunch , once again pal :)

Lastly , what is the difference between the expired and non expire versions and which one should I use ?

@Clsx
Back in the early days of Visual Pinball, the VP.exe was on a timer that would quit working after a certain amount of time.
We saved the expiring exe, just for archival preservation.
If you try try the expired version you will see it is already expired on first start up.
Use the one that doesn't expire.

Got it , thanks a ton :) !

Hi , I'd like to ask one more small thing

What VP should I use for VP7 tables ? VP 8 ?

Thanks

@Clsx
Yes use VP8 for VP7 tables.
For the older tables, here is what I do.
If the graphics look messed up in VP8, I use VP6.
Seems to work.
