Is Rockola a test account?

It's an account of mine that had to be added (and can't be deleted) when VBulletin replaced the old PNphpbb2 forums, since the old information was imported to the new VBulletin I couldn't use my User Name when it was installed.

Hope that makes sense..

He was rude about it and dishonest about it.
If he had the power to delete them, then he had the power to move them.

P.S.: Just to make myself clear: Personally i am not so much offended by the fact that the thread got deleted, (i was actually pretty disappointed by it myself so i can certainly live with that), but much more by the absolutely shitty approach he took on us, on people who by his own admission he does not even know. (And vice-versa.) The way he barged on in here literally out of nowhere, how he told everyone that he alone holds the wisdom of knowing whats right, interesting and productive, etc., how he told everyone that he is 'The Big D3l3t0r' who is going to delete all others posts because in his opinion they have no right to exist etc., seriously, i have rarely seen someone acting more ****-like and that is saying something. And that is the part that ticked me off. But then again, he wanted us all to know who he is, so to be fair i have to grant him that at least in that regard he did a great job. An oustanding job, actually, because he managed to introduce us to his character in a mere two hours. And since it is always good to know who you are dealing with this is priceless,...

If the hook up feature is better than GB then PoolSharks might be better. I have noticed that on GB games are filled up very fast, especially those made by members with names like 'beginner', 'learner', and such. Faster than the pairings with players with user names like 'Shark', 'master' and such.

Ok, my last little bit, more of a last word and contribution to the discussion.

Flamer threads, if you wan em have em, but,
1. Mass warnings, if people are gonna get involved make sure they know what there getting into.

2. Dont let them report it to the moderator - really just a follow up to the warnings, If your gonna have some kind a insult thread dont let the people in it report it! Moderators inboxes shouldnt be filled with, someone called me a name and i am reporting it, (WHICH IS WHAT BROUGHT MY ATTENTION TO THE THREAD) .

3. Dont let the flamer threads get all over the front of the forum. Its a visitors first opinion and it sticks like glue. It makes the forum seem unmoderated and invites all kind of spam into it as it seems unmoderated.

Just one last thing,
I retired from forklift driving 5 years ago and took up webmastering. Since then i have moved into a house paid for by web surfers, i drive a 2005 ford paid for by web surfers. I have lived the life of a retiree because i have to do very very little to earn my house , car and countless holidays. Take today for instance, i got up at 3pm (Melbourne aus), found i had earned $160 US in ccbill, (so about $230 au) plus a few sales here an there on other billings, so about a $400 (adult friend finder etc) then jumped in the shower and went to nandos for breakfast with a mate. Now i am sitting here reading this stuff and i know you guys know nothing about me, but i live a really layed back life, and i am a really layed back person. My best site currently has a traffic rank around 110 000 (Lower the better this site is 750 000). I have used forums toplists, many different directory and dating scripts to drive and create new traffic, so my experience is actually not that bad.

So basically i have had a good day (This last 4 hours anyway) i have earned about $400 just for getting out of bed. Came to this forum expecting you guys to have written a lot worse but nothing i cant handle. I feel no need to say much more really.

Can someone please remind Johnny purps that i still have access to ftp which means i can still basically do anything i want, delete things, move things etc and we all know no one here want me to have any kind of delete options!

(Lucky no one was too harsh towards me aye ? !!! JUST JOKING! Love this site, love johnny purps, still loving what i did to that crappy thread! )

Anyway, bowling starts at 9pm. I know its a retiree sport, but im 35 and retired from 40 hour weeks 5 years ago. Living the good life!. Bye..

(Oh, dont correct my punctuation and spelling, i dropped out in year 11 but for some reason, i still run my own successfull business, own my own home and car and i do next to nothing for it because i am a successfull webmaster.)

in some of you long time members that now stoop so low.

What blabla2006 says about flame threads presenting a very bad
first impression is right on the money.

It is easy to post a negative comment,,,, (including slurs,,,,)

The Moderators job,,,, to clean up all the flotsam and jetsam is a much, much harder job than I would wish on me.

I will do it , but I would probably piss off lots of people because
I would delete "FOREVER" all negative or flame style posts.

Let Me know if you Mods would like my "Delete" key to join the mix.

IMO The real reason for coming to this site is for Pinball, not "hate threads"

I want this site to look good and have character !

The good character comes along with fun posts about pinball,
and again,, I would like to help move this site to a more friendly
place to come to.

If I have a say,,, Negative Comments, Slurs, ETC, will be moved to a
place called "You Can't say that Here." Then it would be up to other
Moderators, wiser than me, to allow others to view and comment/argue.

rick, it would require me writing several long posts to answer this and no offense, but the message probably wouldn't sink in anyway unless you had a chance to see things from the POV of a staffer.

cleaning up PN would be pointless, anyway. PN is not a place which is on the verge of taking off if only things got cleaned up a little bit. PN is a complimentary VP place and the entire VP scene mainly just gets traffic from downloaders, not from pinball players who are enthusiastic about talking online.

if you're looking for more pinball talk then you probably want to hit alt-rec-pinball or whatever that thing is called. but pinball as it is is kind of an old man's game and the traffic is about as good as it's going to get.

Why read it if it bothers you? Don't chase an ambulance if you don't want to see some blood. We can't delete everything Shocky posts and yet, even you think he should be at both forums. That makes no sense, you want family friendly and you want SHocky's expertise available everywhere. I guess you need a better plan, besides this is JPH's site and he has about 12 supporting members and VPF has about 5000 supporting members, so he foots ALL the bills, so he gets to have it his way.

Why is this about me? I only made one of the threads that were deleted.

I don't think there is anything wrong with hiding from those not involved, these types of threads, as long as the person or persons it was directed to has read it. I certainly think it is better than the cherry picking that the staff of VPF does, and always have, because they cherry pick people, not problems. It does not matter in the least what is said at VPF, it only matters who said it.

I don't understand why Rick and Blah can not avoid reading threads that they know the content of and don't like, and I don't believe Blah when he said that either of these threads were reported by anyone that was called names. I know I did not report a single post, and I don't think anyone involved did either. The threads or posts therein probably was reported, but by someone like Rick or Blah that was not involved.

What do people do when they have no interest in porn on the net? Do they go view the content, twice, if it is really uninteresting, and then complain about it? I don't think so, and I don't think anyone is stuck reading a sub forum titled debates, or junk.

No one convinced Rick that he is not welcome here, but Rick. And though Rick may be right in his opinions, he is dead wrong in that last statement.
