Man, one thing that always kind of blew me away is that evidently LOADS of heavy metal musicians come from a traditional classical music BG, and indeed you can even hear it at times in their song structure and chord-choosing, even as they play it fast and bad-ass as hell, lol.

Not certain though.
 
Huge fan of Zappa's original albums from the 60's and early 70's, and still listen to them, but later releases pass me by and mean nothing to me.
