How did you like that movie / TV show / book?

I thought Tyson would have won, he should still feel proud that he went 8, 2 minute rounds with a boxer half his age.
Quite a few rumours that it was fixed going around and i do wonder.

I remember when George Foreman came out of retirement at age 45 to fight Moorer.
It looked like it was no contest, as Moorer kept smashing Foreman's face to a bloody pulp.
I actually felt sorry for him, as it looked like there was no way he could win this fight. He looked bad, face all pushed in.
He kept hitting Moorer with jabs, that looked like they had no effect.
Until the last one, which still didn't look like he hit him hard enough to do damage, but knocked him out!

there's a movie drama about Miles Davis on pluto.tv
miles ahead......
In the midst of a prolific career, Miles Davis virtually disappears from public view in the late 1970s, his musical voice stifled by drugs. Plagued by years of regret and loss, Davis flirts with annihilation until he once again finds salvation in his art.

well, sherman, here's another trip in the way back machine.

oh, come on, lighten up everybody.
it was supposed to be funny
rocky and bullwinkle and fractured fairy tales were cartoons from when i was kid.
there was no Power Rangers and TMNT turtles.....not for a long time.....rotflmao.....
the list is long from all the great oldies that kicked butt over the later cartoons from the 80s and 90s..
oh, well, it was different time....carry on

Alright, I forget if this is my absolute favorite cartoon series of all times, but it's gotta be diddle-doing close, if naught!

Oh... oh dear...

So, in the tribute sense, this was the very last thing that The Monkees' Mike Nesmith & Peter Tork worked on as their last gasp before their respective deaths, leaving Micky Dolenz as the last surviving Monkee, just a few years ago.

Now, there were a lot of problems with that band from A-Z, mainly starting with idiot music execs, but on the whole, I thought it was a great group, producing & performing a landslide of excellent tunes.

Yesss... I love the Monkees.

cancel........too much language

New Lord of the Rings animated movie!!

And here's Robert Earl Jones (yes, the father of Darth Vader), pulling off a scam with Robert Redford in The Sting (1973).

An old SNL skit from 1978 with Carrie Fisher, (Princess Leia) and an all star comedian cast. (Back when Saturday Night Live was great!)
The Loud Family

Haha, SNL did some fun 'family' oriented stuff back in those days. Another one IIRC was where every member of the family had a huge arse, but had absolutely zero self-awareness of such. Or the Conehead family, and yadda yadda.

Speaking of John Belushi and Carrie Fisher, I remember their relationship turning sour after awhile:

Btw, pardon if this is a repost, but here's a cool video project that recaps every SNL season in history. So far they're up to season 17, and each ep runs somewhere from 11-28min.

William Shatner on SNL.

ok, mellenials, just thought maybe you would be interested in the history of cartoons and how it all changed
through the decades....
here is what the cartoons were like way back.
cartoons after school and saturday morning.
if you don't see it look for foghorn leghorn, snagglepuss, peppy le pew, wacky racers, tom slick, speed racer,
tennessee tuxedo, thunderbirds, road runner, dudley-do-right
, dasterdly and mutley, kimba, the banana splits,
the monkeys, pink panther, sylvester and tweety, scooby-doo, bugs bunny-road runner, woody woodpecker, daffy duck, tom slick and jerry, fat albert...there's more if can remember it all.....
here's a good link for a lot of stuff i missed......saturday morning tv memories 64-76-----
can you name the kid in the pic with HR Puffnstuff @1970??

do a search on YT...i did the search...they work.
saturday morning cartoons came to an end in about 1976,,,some say it ended in the early 90s.
the real reason it ended is because parents were complaining about the violence in the cartoons and the
disapproval of the commercials.
there were chases involving violence, bombs and safes getting dropped on heads....that's just an example.
i have to agree..some were pretty violent......watch wiley e. coyote and road runner...
watch for yourself....do a search or copy/paste....why were saturday morning cartoons canceled in 1976 in america
