I was thinking why not both, though sometimes a man has to know his limits.

Site Announcements seems the best fit.

I thought so too, but what threw me off is the logo competition in the chickaball topic.
So thought I would ask first.

We are increasing the resolution and definition of our forum logos and need high resolution (400 x 400 pixels or higher) quality images or photos of a pinball for our pinball babes to sit upon. Requesting your Big, Bold and Bountiful Balls to be included in our sites' logo...

Additionally, if we do get a few good submissions, then we could ask that any with the skills get rid of that rough edge that surrounds chic a ball, which I am thinking could take some advanced graphics skills to fix.

So for now I think it's best to stick to the 1200 render, until we get a better ball. The 1200 render is already a great improvement, and they render great here.

We might be going too far, as we're maybe chasing diminishing returns going anything higher than a 1920 wide image may not see any possible improvements.

Just a thought, it is already much sharper.

Agree.
Plus the bigger the logo, the longer it takes to load.

Also if it turns out we are chasing rainbows, at least we will have a new pinball to use for chickaball girls on 1200X200.

Perhaps testing a 1600 vs 1200 version might be a better starting point to compare, as we also have a few 2400 for reference.

Though don't knock yourself out, we have achieved plenty already.

I guess we won't be able to update the Workshop thread until after Easter, oh well...once we have pleased the Irish we best try and keep it to one at a time.

We should actually formulate a list of holidays/events that we intend to work on into the future.

We can update the workshop thread right after the logo is uploaded.
So the next will be St Patricks, and then Easter.

Here are some holidays we can consider doing, (Also any holidays special to each persons country speak up, and we can do them too)

The day after Easter is April fools, but not only that, it was also the day this site was opened all of those years ago. (21 years ago!)
I was thinking jester hats, but maybe make it 21 year celebration, and do something classy?

We have an Earth Day April 22nd, maybe am earth globe behind the ladies?

Then May 5th Cinco de Mayo.

Think we should skip Mothers and Fathers Day, as it would be hard to theme one based on those themes.

May 18th we have Armed Forces day, though we could probably skip this one and go right to May 27th which is Memorial Day.

Then on to 4th of July.

Then Labor Day in Sept. 2nd. We could put hard hats on the ladies.

Then back to Halloween!

You are right!
Also we missed St Patricks, so we can't release that until after Easter, or like you say, they will see the Cow references in our posts way too early.

Only one I had handy that was 512 by 512. Not sure where the other ones are, sure they are somewhere on a backup hard drive somewhere. Most where 256x2 anyway. If you search for "ball bearings" you may find some good ones as well on google.

You all are great, I've read the latest responses and am so impressed.

I do have a rack of pinballs @StevOz, must have taken a picture before but I will again, I'll see if I can trap one of them to take a picture for the logo. I also received a plastic mini pinball toy for Xmas and will take a picture. My camera busted a few years ago and I still suck but am now forced to use a phone. I'm really lousy at photography with phones and before used graphics software like photoshop and Gimp, now have Irfanview and XnViewMP but have no experience lately.

I've changed some of the settings in the Admin forums while researching logo stuff, all of the Tags are now available (testing) and we aren't indexing threads here anymore, really don't think indexing matters.

I spent a long time when XF was installed learning about the Styles and it's still flipping me out, and yes I never figured out how to make the Logo larger...

There's a lot of info at the XF Forums and with the reaction system (likes) a 2X icon will only appear on a device that can display it properly. So complex, and there are mobile device settings but I don't use phones for the web much. 2X logos should only appear on compatible devices but I don't know for sure. I visually noticed a change in the default style vs. others, we changed the color of the Chat navigation from red to nothing and then green if it was active, forgot where that edit happened but I'll find out.

Love the logo's and must nominate Bastille Day, on July 14th, I always loved the Tour de France and it's a celebration for me, had a boss that used to celebrate my birthday (13th) and into Bastille Day. France is now the 2nd highest country to visit us and mobile visitors are increasing.

Forgot to mention that the background of the logo was from a previous CMS (Content Management System) and was probably postnuke based or earlier!

So I never saved any templates from the old St Patricks Day logo I made, so I started over, and have made a few so far.
I moved the pots of gold from the very outer edge, inward 50 arrow spaces. So they are symetrical, and about in middle between edge and Pinball Nirvana words.
Moved the ladies over the pots.
Added clover deco on sides.
Red head looks better on the left side for some reason to me.
