So I got some balls, and after a very intensive work for 5 day, I'm proud to release the good old C64 classic Pinball Power table's remake to Visual Pinball 9. I started the skeleton in 2007, and some months ago I found it again. I asked some help to make it, but mainly managed to get enough working code samples to figure out how to make it happen.
Feel free to ask, and give suggestions. I don't promise I will update it very soon. If there is a painful bug. Nothing more.
The only thing is missing a flasher from goal, and tilt is not yet implemented, suggestions accepted.
Have fun!

Known bugs:
---------------
- Sometimes gates are stuck after launch ball. Close VP and reopen table...

Rules:
-------
Skillshot hole: 50 points.
Skillshot complete: 100 points and 3 bonus points.
Bumpers: 10 points.
Spinner: 10 points/round.
Goal: 100 points and 1 bonus points.
Slingshot: 50 points.
Hit slingshot 3 times to LIT opposite inlane for 1 bonus point.
LIT Extra Ball by getting 40 bonus points. And get it by leaving the table on any outlane.
Outlane when LIT: Extra Ball and 100 points.
Left/Right black targets: 50 points each.
Completing it rewards 100 points and 5 bonus points.
Drop target dominos 100 points each, and hidden hole gives 50 points and 3 bonus points.

Bonus points are counted for 100 x each.
Bonus points are counted after ball went down.
Bonus points are also can be counted on the left sidewalk to the top right hole.

Update 1.1:
--------------
I found out how to make the upper info text scrolling. Check out that version too! :)

Update 1.2
------------
I made a lamp under the goal.
Extraball sound handling is fixed.
Extra ball shoot again now keep showing until player launches the extra ball.

Update 1.3
------------
Some sound was missing, like getting the ball, and the gates.
And now have a ball out sound. It was not there originally, but was needed. :)

Update 1.4
------------
Maybe the final update.
Now have init game sound and lights testing up and down just like the original.

Update 1.5.
-------------
NOW it's really final. PINBALL POWER now lights up when extra bonus counter is running.
It got a nice Shoot Again lamp.
I tweaked the table to reach piano targets, and the upright slide to the extra counter. It was way too horizontal and bumper could pitch up the ball there, and stopped.

Now I think I really finished... :D
Sounds OK, lamps OK, bonus counter light OK, playfield OK, everything seems to be in order, just like in the original.
New TopScore sound!

Update 1.6.
------------
HighScore Saver!
It saves high score to a txt file next to your current VPT file to "PinballPowerRecord.txt"
It can be turned off, if windows denies the file access for some reason:
Go to script editor, find row nr. 26 and set SaveRecord = false

Servus, and nice work. ^^

The C64 was huge for me in the 80's, and I thought this was pretty-much the best table for it, outside of the neato adaptation of Williams' "Black Knight," which was called "Midnight Magic" on 8-bit machines.

Of course, there was also Bill Budge's solid adaptation of Williams' "Firepower," called "Raster Blaster." It was made for the Apple II and Atari, sadly never showing up for C64.

But I thought Pinball Power was quite cool, a lot of that because it was seemingly the first ever to attempt giving the player a realistic view of what an actual PB was like to play. The physics were also pretty good for the time, and the layout, simple but classic.

So many doggone pinball sims on computer, even stretching in to the 90's and beyond, were simply terrible, not necessarily because the physics or other parameters were outright BAD, but because the designers barely knew a thing about good playfield design.

By comparison, real-life pinball was of course getting lots more flashier and impressive from the 80's on, and it seems like a bunch of the computer-sim designers mainly wanted to just cash in if they could, not really caring if their virtual machines made any sense to actually play.

Haha, sorry for the essay. XD

Yay I managed to make the scrolling text working! Check it out! :)

Hi, unless I'm missing something, it appears the download is the 1.0 version of the table and not the new 1.6 version. Just wanted to let you know in case that's a mistake. Thank you for your efforts!

Hello!
Thanks for notifying me. I updated the attachment in the main post, but can't figure out how to set the version number in the post... any idea? Thanks!

I uploaded your first version to our Resources section right after you posted attachment for the v1.0 table.
So now you can click Download button at top of page to get table. I just uploaded v1.6.
You can upload your updated tables on Resources page by going to top of this page and clicking Overview. Which takes you to your tables Resources Download page. (I connected your Resources Download page, with your Forum page.)
Or click here..
Now you should be able to see "Post an update" tab at upper right of page.
Click that the next time you want to update your table.

Thanks for sharing your work!

Oh now I see, I thought I can set this up in post an update, because it's an update.
But no, I must choose release new version, there I can set version number.
But now it's almost final version. I really don't think I can add anything for it. But if yes, I will use that method.
Thanks!
Happy playing! My record is 30630 right now. :)

Hi pycur,
Of course you could "add anything on it"... Maybe a cab-friendly version (rotated 90 degrees, ~ 16/9 proportions) and separate b2s backglass?
THAT would be very cool 😊👍

I don't have the knowledge and the need for it.
But I allow you to make it for CAB use. And share it too.
I don't even have b2s driver. Is vpt capable of it? Not just vpx?
I also saved it as vpx in vp10, but the result is a pink transparent strange stuff. It won't accept images as surface, it needs something texture to recolor the table.
You may do it as well if you want. I'm small for it.
It currently works as I dreamed of. Like on the c64 with small extras like texts and game over/shoot again lamp.
Thanks for your interest! :)
