So it's a Steam game? I was hoping it was your FP table.

Not for a long time.

I'm finishing up MOTU CE (almost done) but I've been taking a long deserved break and enjoying Silent Hill 2 Remake all week.

After MOTU CE is done... then I'm back to working on Silent Hill for FP.

Right on. Can't wait for MOTU.

I am junkie to motu....
I wonder what percentage of completion silent hill will be at?
it will be another masterpiece!

I can't give a % or any estimated time when it will be done (not for a long time).

I've been working away at Silent Hill for a good month now, and it will look much different than how it last looked. Lots more stuff being added to it.

Boy, time flies. I just wanted to pop in to say, yes.... this table is very much back in progress.

I have been working on it since around Feb, but progress is slower since I'm back to work fulltime now (and my energy afterward is low, as I'm not at 100% health) . I've pretty much redesigned most of the table with many new functions and systems in place. It's quite different in many ways, but has some cool new things I can't wait to show.

I've also been learning how to combine / bake many 100's of models into a singular model and texture. This was needed to allow them all to have proper baked lighting and shadows projected onto everything, and since many models use repeated tiled textures, this required a proper method in Blender to make that happen. This was something I was worried may not be possible, but I got it working, and its looking so much better than I expected.

Once I'm at a point of having the introduction portion completely done, I'll start sharing new some screenshots and gameplay (the table looks completely different). Needless to say, there is a staggering amount more to do, but once these new features and systems are ironed out, progress should go faster after that.

Frickin awesome!!

Silent Hill sieht ja Super Genial aus ! Grüsse aus Hannover !

The day it becomes available, I will be a very happy man.
TerryRed, you are a creator of emotions.

Wow. Its a good time to be a video game horror fan!

We all knew Konami and Bloober Team were working together again on another game after the immense success of the amazing Silent Hill 2 Remake. We just didn't know what it was... but I suspected what it would be.

Konami snuck in some amazing news at the end of their video event today. Bloober Team and Konami are making a new Silent Hill 1 remake game!

I am freaking excited... and I'm still on the high of the Silent Hill 2 remake... let alone the upcoming Silent Hill f, and Bloober's own Cronos The New Dawn!

The upcoming Silent Hill f is a new Silent Hill game that takes place in 1960's Japan. While traditional Silent Hill games have been western inspired horror told through a Japanese filter, this game is Japanese horror told through a Silent Hill filter. The new trailer showed freaky / creepy gameplay and a release date of Sept 25th. It's gotten very positive reactions, and I'm very excited to play a new take of the Silent Hill formula!

We also got new gameplay footage and a fall release date for Bloober Team's original new Cronos The New Dawn game! It looks like a mix of The Thing, Sci-fi and action horror. I'm very excited to see how this turns out, as The Thing is one of my favorite movies, and the visuals and style of this game totally appeal to me.

I've been working away at my Silent Hill fan-based tribute pinball video game. The new Silent Hill 2 remake has inspired me to redesign most of the game and its coming along well, but its got a long way to go. I better get on it though as I want it done before the Silent Hill 1 remake comes out, haha!

WORK IN PROGRESS

New design - Blender Renders of the first playfield layout

Let a new round of teases begin!

After a long absence, I've been working away like crazy on my Silent Hill pinball game. I've gone back and redesigned most of the game to incorporate more features, and to add in ideas I really wanted to do when I started making this game years ago. I've learned so much over the last few years, that I can now implement some really cool stuff, but it takes a long time to create, test, and implement them since there isn't really other examples for me to go by. Sometimes a new idea works great, sometimes not. I've also implemented all new sounds, a new inventory system, new monster models / animation / combat, all new artwork, and much more.

This game is different than other pinball games. As you progress through the story of the game (it's a big game), the layout / visuals / mechanics, etc will change. The top half of the playfield will completely change as will many different ramp combinations (kind of like Multimorphic P3 pinball machines, only it's multiple layouts in one single game). The smaller black openings are for inserts and toys. The large black section at the mid-bottom is an opening. There will be displays, and other things that appear in there that move and change up as well. The round bumper section (for this one playfield layout) also moves and changes up as you progress. Everything on the game is modular and can be changed up to have lots of possible combinations if wanted... but that is evolving as I create / update the game more.

Here are some Blender renders of the "start" of the game. One of many different looks and layouts. LOTS of baking to do as I go on.

I'll eventually have some in-game screenshots, and when I finish the last part of the first Scene / Chapter, I'll make a demo video at some point. Can't wait to show you how much this has changed.

SILENT HILL (Future Pinball - BAM)

WORK IN PROGRESS

Screenshots - New Foggy Town - Scene 1

Here's a peek at some in-game screenshots of the start of the game. Silent Hill is different than all other pinball games. There are aspects that will change as you progress through the game story. This includes the upper half of the playfield, the ramps, the bumper section, the middle open video display area, and more will completely change. The playfield layouts, and looks will change from the foggy town of Silent Hill to the hellish Otherworld. The cabinet artwork and coin door also transitions from foggy to rusty.

The video shows there is a pesky Lying Figure monster crawling around waiting to have a bash with a silverball.

More new screenshots of the Nightmare Alley Otherworld will come soon.

You won't believe it, but yesterday I dreamed that I was playing your Silent Hill. I can't wait... Forgive me for my English.

SILENT HILL (Future Pinball - BAM)

WORK IN PROGRESS

Screenshots - Nightmare Alley - Scene 1

Here's some in-game screenshots of the Nightmare Alley level. When you follow the little girl into the dark alley, the game changes from the foggy town of Silent Hill into the dark hellish Otherworld.

The game goes completely dark and you only have your lighter to see. It creates a small flickering light source that follows your ball around. When you explore the playfield, the upper section will rotate and reveal things such as a wheelchair and bloody table. You eventually see the girl and try to follow her. Instead of a little girl, you find a horrific sight of a gory corpse entangled in barbwire! Suddenly you hear the horrible screams of the Grey Children and the entire playfield lights up to reveal the decayed, rusty, and bloody Otherworld!

While the layout (at this point) is mostly the same, the visuals have completely changed to rusty walls and industrial metal / fencing / barbwire everywhere... strange fabric covering unknown things, and a hole revealing hellfire below the corpse.

You will need to escape the Grey Children and progress to the next level. You have no weapons(yet). All you can do is RUN.... and scream!

The neat thing about FP's dynamic lighting being combined with normal maps, is I can make something like the walls look decayed simply by changing the model's colour / specular / normal maps on the fly. So I make the normal (bump) map height level very high which makes it look more rusty / decayed... without needing to change the texture or model. This can be done in realtime dynamically as well to make it look like something is quickly decaying in front of you.

The video shows that pesky Lying Figure monster crawling around again... even though it's not in this section of the game. It just loves the spotlight!

I will eventually have full gameplay of the entire Nightmare Alley scene. Screenshots don't do it justice.

You are a master!

WORK IN PROGRESS - First WIP Teaser Video

The fear of nudge tends to create fear for the TILT!

After a long absence, I'm finally back to work on my fan-made Silent Hill virtual pinball game for Future Pinball-BAM! Much has happened since the last update I posted so long ago! The Silent Hill series is in a full revival. We've had the amazing Silent Hill 2 remake from Bloober Team, and we now have multiple new games coming out! Playing Silent Hill 2 remake gave me lots of new ideas and inspirations. So I completely rebuilt and redesigned Silent Hill pinball. Lots of new features and even more crazy ambitions than I had before. Some you will see in this teaser... but many you won't see until future videos.

This teaser video shows only bits of the first Scene (Nightmare Alley) and some of the new features. I'll have a full gameplay demo of the Nightmare Alley soon enough! I am loving how this is finally turning out!

Interface and Inventory Sounds - Modern and Classic

If there is one thing that fans of classic games love... its the in-game interface sounds for things like the inventory menu, picking up items, using an item, etc. Classic Silent Hill games have some very specific sounds used in most of their games. The new Silent Hill 2 remake retains some of the classic sounds, but also has great new sounds as well. I was torn what to use for Silent Hill pinball.

So... why chose? Instead I include both modern sounds and classic sounds for things like the menu and inventory, etc. The player can choose which one they prefer to use. Other parts of the game will have a mix of old and new sounds.
