What music are you listening to?

I just got back from my friends house after watching a concert video by Los Lonely Boys. They are 3 hispanic brothers that are amazing musicians. Three band members is all they have. This is their best song:

I have MusicBee running now because the 2nd radio show went mia, Playing some 10cc.:headfones:

I just love the Los Lonely Boys.

Santana is live close to me this summer, saw them before, I don't know if they would play Smooth but I still think it might be the best song in the past 25 years or so...:safesofa:
Tour locations and dates are in the 2nd youtube page.:drummer:
Edit: 1999 live video added:

I think I have all of Santana's albums.

Edited my prior post, added the live Santana video and listed it first.

I nominate Smooth for best song since it was released, how about a poll about the best songs since 2000?

Maybe some Florence & The Machine, she has a great voice, there's a song that's awesome that I need to find.

I have this Manfred Mann and the Earth Band album on mp3's, also have a tape and found it in a collection.
Manfred Mann's Earth Band 2011 Remastered The Very Best Of

I've loved the band, came across this version of Blinded by the Light on Youtube that has me laughing!

From the lyrics version in the Youtube comments:
I once asked my mom why these lyrics made no sence and she simply said "acid"

Read the comments for funny stuff::trippy:

Blinded by the light
Revved up like a deuce
Another runner in the night

Blinded by the light
Revved up like a deuce
Another runner in the night

Blinded by the light
Revved up like a deuce

Madman drummers bummers
Indians in the summer
With a teenage diplomat
In the dumps with the mumps
As the adolescent pumps
His way into his hat
With a boulder on my shoulder
Feelin' kinda older
I tripped the merry-go-round

With this very unpleasin'
Sneezin' and wheezin
The calliope crashed to the ground
The calliope crashed to the ground

Well she was
Blinded by the light
Revved up like a deuce
Another runner in the night

Blinded by the light
Revved up like a deuce
Another runner in the night

Blinded by the light
Revved up like a deuce
Another runner in the night

Blinded by the light
Revved up like a deuce
Another runner in the night

Some silicone sister
With a manager mister
Told me I got what it takes
She said
"I'll turn you on sonny to something strong
Play the song with the funky break"
And go-cart Mozart
Was checkin' out the weather chart
See if it was safe outside
And little early-pearly
Came by in his curly-wurly
And asked me if I needed a ride
The calliope crashed to the ground

Well she was
Blinded by the light
Revved up like a deuce
Another runner in the night
Blinded by the light
Revved up like a deuce
Another runner in the night

Blinded by the light
Revved up like a deuce
Another runner in the night
Blinded by the light
Revved up like a deuce
Another runner in the night

Blinded by the light
Revved up like a deuce
Another runner in the night
Blinded by the light
Revved up like a deuce
Another runner in the night

Blinded by the light
Revved up like a deuce
Another runner in the night
Blinded by the light
Revved up like a deuce
Another runner in the night

Blinded by the light
Revved up like a deuce
Another runner in the night
Blinded by the light

She got down but she never got tight
She's gonna make it through the night
Ha! :drummer:

They rock!
I swear I have seen that Bass player before!
Pretty sure she is in this new Jack Daniels commercial.

Today I listened to Rachmaninoff: The Piano Concertos and Paganini Rhapsody. Gustavo Dudamel conducting the LA Philarmonic and the amazing Yuja Wang on the piano.
Tidal link only but I'm sure lesser quality services have this as well.

Theme:

gts107 “contrishun”

Sorry in advance, I didn’t mean it.
01-01 Bing Crosby & Victor Young Orchestra – Brunswick 6179 – I Apologize (1931)
01-02 Go Go’s – God Bless The Go-Go’s 03 – Apology (2001)
— putting the bad blood behind them, they buried the hatchet and released this as their “comeback” ablum. Not as bouncey as the younger Go-Go’s, but more mature songwriting
01-03 Nirvana – In Utero 12 – All Apologies (1997)
— Kurt had a lot to apologize for, a wonder that this song isn’t longer
01-04 Beatallica – A Garage Dayz Nite 04 – No Remorseful Reply (2001)
— saying “sorry” was not enough, the band got sued in 2005 by Sony (owner of the Beatles catalogue at the time). Lars Ulrich of Metallica offered to lend them his own band’s lawyers, being amused that Beatallica’s drummer is pseudonymed “Ringo Larz”
01-05 Amy Arena – Amy Arena 01 – Excuse Me (1995)
— one of the few Amy Arena tunes that doesn’t require bleeping, thus it got airplay 30 years ago
01-06 Mandolin’ Brothers – Far Out 07 – Sorry If (2014)
— an Italian band, and your ears are not lying to you, that is John Popper on the harp
02-01 Kenny Karen – Columbia 4-42264 – Susie Forgive Me (1962)
— you can walk!
02-02 Susan McCann – Sincerely Yours 103 – I Feel Sorry For Anyone Who Isn’t Me Tonight (1981)
— Ireland to Nashville turned out to be a good career move
02-03 The Hollies – Parlophone R5765 – Sorry Suzanne (1969)
— an A-side single, the first Hollies tune after Graham Nash left to join David Crosby and Steven Stills (and Neil Young)
02-04 Versengold – Lautes Gedenken 205 – Sorry Marie (2023)
— pretty nice fiddle work, right? Check out that “fiddle”:
02-05 Marie Warnant – Ritournelle 09 – Sorry So Sorry (2010)
— Belgians are adept at blending languages
02-06 Madonna – Celebration 111 – Sorry (2009)
— saying “sorry” in at least seven languages, she re-did this from the 2005 release “Confessions On A Dance Floor”
03-01 David Bowie – Pinups 08 – Sorrow (1973)
— a cover of the 1966 tune by The Merseybeats, from which the Beatles “stole” a line they added to their 1967 song “It’s All Too Much” for the Yellow Submarine album
03-02 O.V. Wright – Memphis Unlimited 202 – Please Forgive Me (1973)
— Overton Vertis, in case you wondered
03-03 Connie Francis – MGM 12588 – Who’s Sorry Now (1958)
— a hit in 1923 by Isham Jones, that version is now in ‘public domain’ but Connie’s remains a pillar of musical comfort food, just like a friend
03-04 Nutmegs – Herald 466 – Whispering Sorrows (1955)
— touches on a boat theme, which leads nicely into the next tune…
03-05 Genesis – The Lamb Lies Down On Broadway 306 – Silent Sorrow In Empty Boats (1974)
— a dirge of regret, after Rael kills and eats The Lamia sisters, according to the concept album’s narrative
03-06 Voice Of The Beehive – Let It Bee 02 – Sorrow Floats (1988)
— a warning about alcoholism, perhaps the weakest tune on “Let It Bee” which is one of “those” albums, one with no bad songs at all
04-01 Harry Belafonte – RCA Victor 20-5210 – Gomen Nasai (Forgive Me) (1953)
— his first single release, charted to #19
04-02 Baker Knight – Reprise 0523 – Sorry ‘Bout That (1966)
— he wrote “The Wonder Of You” which Elvis put on the charts, and later wrote songs for West Coast Pop Art Experimental Band. 1966 was supposed to be his “wonder year”, also appearing in the now-cult-fave movie Swamp Country
04-03 Dale Wright & The Wright Guys – Fraternity 837 – That’s Show Biz (1959)
— that famous Cincinnati sound?
04-04 Steve Martin – Let’s Get Small 07 – Excuse Me (1977) [excerpt]
— the phrase that launched a career culminating as a foil to Selena Gomez
04-05 Wild Man Fischer – Lost And Found Pep 09 – I’m Sorry, Frank Zappa
— Frank did not accept the apology
04-06 Danny Elfman – Big Mess 01 – Sorry (2021)
— prolific is a small word for his compositions for movie music, this is only Elfman’s second album under his own name
04-07 Foxy Brown – Foxy 101 – Sorry (1989)
— The Virgin Encyclopedia Of Reggae calls Foxy “Jamaica’s Tracy Chapman”. Here’s proof of that
05-01 Corky & The Juice Pigs – Pants 10 – Christmas Dreams (1994)
— not many tunes have the line “sorry I shot your dog”
05-02 Solomon Burke – Atlantic 2170 – I Said I Was Sorry (1962)
— keep hearing songs on the radio, thinking they’re Redding or Pickett, and they turn out to be Burke
05-03 Joni Mitchell – Song To A Seagull 08 – The Pirate Of Penance (1968)
— how many times do we have to be told, a sailor’s apology isn’t worth the water it’s written on
05-04 Lucifer’s Friend – Banquet 202 – Sorrow (1974)
— epic tune from an epic album, Banquet featured a 30-piece backing band (and it shows)
06-01 Taylor Swift – Fearless (Taylor’s Version) 09 – You’re Not Sorry (Taylor’s Version) (2021)
— originally released as her 2nd album in 2008, this ‘Taylor’s Version’ re-do from 2021 features more substantial strings and the isolated vocal track was punched up, an improvement since she gained considerably more control over the production process over the intervening 13 years
06-02 Flav Martin – Not What It Seems 13 – Something Like Sorry (2014)
— Italian born in New Jersey, now a Rhode Islander, Indie Band Guru says “able to do whatever he wants with that 6-stringed instrument.”
06-03 Allan Sherman – Allan Sherman Live! 105 – Sorry ‘Bout That (1966)
— lots of people covered the tune in ’66, making it ripe for a parody
06-04 Andrew Swift & The Rattlesnake Choir – Up With The Anchor 03 – Sorry Holly (2013)
— from Melbourne Australia, at his first paying gig, he received “payment of a large pizza and any tips that got thrown my way.”
06-05 Anne-Marie – MGM K13534 – You Won’t Be Sorry Baby (1966)
— 44 years later Ann Anello wrote the song “Connie” for the show “A Tribute to Connie Francis”
… and a bonus track…
07-01 The Smart Set (The Staccatos) – Capitol 72356 – Sorry ‘Bout That, Chief (1966)
— out of Ottawa, made it in Toronto, failed miserably in Hollywood

It's a prog show, put one out every 5 weeks or so, intribute of a late great show on the same station, The Show Of Prauge, where the DJ played progrock and pretended to be a guy from Czechoslovakia who had seriously misunderstood the word "prog"

And yeah, as @xenonph has kindly alerted, there's a show from 10-midnite too, this week's theme is "sorry"
