Yes, for non FizX tables, you have to change the model of bumper and create a dummy trigger skirt...
 
What about the bumpers?

Same as it's always been for FizX. Just follow the new tutorial, table example and the video. They both show an example for older bumpers methods like EM kickers that need to be removed, and if the table has drop target skirt models, those also need to be removed... along with any code or timers used.

hello I just tested on 'Tree Angels' fizX version 3 to 3.2. The update is super simple and quick. This update causes a latency on my PC of 5 years with the tables rather loaded. Despite everything, given all the advantages that fizX brings, I can't see myself playing pinball in the future without it. Thank you Terry & Jlou

I tested FizX 3.2 on Sonic Pinball Mania on my i5 2500K PC which is 11 years old, and it ran fine on there.

I don't know what "Table Flipper Line" is... so chances are... no? :)
 
@Zobou Can you load (or send via PM) your table in order to test it. I do (or redo) 9 tables with FizX3.2 without no problems with my old other I3 PC (OK, it's old EM). What is your configuration (CPU, GPU, screen)?

yes I'm sending you that, but I think I found it. There are simply balls which are constantly in contact with the post at the top of the table. which causes infinite loops.

Ah, yes... now I know.

From the FP manual

This slider sits at the side of the machine. It should be adjusted so that the marker line sits in just behind the bottom of the lowest set of flippers. This marker is used by the camera system as some of the automated views are based on the position of the flippers

I honestly never even thought about it to be honest... but maybe I'll pay more attention to it now :)

At some point.... I'll most likely update many Ultimate Pro tables (that were released) and to FizX and PinEvent. Same goes for more of Rom's tables (like Knight Rider) and maybe some of Polygame's tables..... eventually... some day (I have my own tables to finish as well). Even if someone did a FizX update to a table... I would most likely end up doing my own FizX and PinEvent update / mod anyways. Some would be "big" updates like....

If you are still having issues with your PC lagging using FizX 3.2 on some tables that have captive balls resting on rubbers or walls, etc... @JLou5641 said before we can still go back to older 3.0 methods (in 3.2 code) by changing this line to false:

xBAM.Physics.AllObjectsHasGenericHit = false

However, this means that you would need to add rubber posts and rubbers bands for all rubbers like you did with FizX 3.0. This could be a good option to use for tables that have captive balls that rest on rubbers or walls all the time (which are played on older PCs).

There may be an update in the future that could resolve this.... but that will rely on future BAM updates to allow it (but there were other bugs and problems with that BAM update that aren't resolved yet).

Again.... I had no problems with my older PCs.... but some others may with slower PCs with certain tables as mentioned above.... at least for now.

@TerryRed Could you test Ace High (or Rack a Ball). The jack7749's problem seems to be due to the balls in the apron (see pic). He have no problem with Moulin Rouge. And I don't have problem with the 3 balls even on my old PC...

@Zobou , be sure the line xBAM.Physics.GenericPreHitMinBallSpeed is set to 5.

That mean all static ball will be ignored.

By the way, your CPU is too weak for this type of game. Physics is like graphics... It requiered calculation... More and better physics need more power...

Now, i recommand at least a Ryzen 5 3400...


As @TerryRed said, i have a BAM update wich is buggy ( not related to Fizx ), so not ready to release with another FizX update. I hope Rav could solved issues... Because it can increase up to 40% the performance of FizX in Multiball or with Captive ball

"xBAM.Physics.AllObjectsHasGenericHit = false" means that all "FP Rubbers" on the table will not work normally (FizX 3.0 and older methods), so you would need to add FizX diverter rubbers and fizx rubber bands all over the table the same as you did on FizX 3.0 and before.

This only affect Native FP rubber, target, and Drop Target. If you set it to false, those will not work correctly. ( to make it simple, with false, it will set the bounciness value on the current hit with the value of previous hit.. So you can have big bouncing issue ).
So you need to use same method as FizX 3.0 if you set it to false

I made lot of script optimisation, and physics optimisation for flipper and PF.. Also i solved some issue on flipper.. So yes, even without using new rubber method, it have a benefit, for gamplay and perfomance in this case
